CHAPTER 1

Exiting the train, her eyes search for the signs she's looking for.

Seeing a sign that says 'New York' a big grin popped up on her face. She makes a run with her bags and rolling suitcases in hand, struggling to make her way to the escalator. Once she gets there, she heaves a sigh.

For a moment she couldn't believe that she was actually present. That she made it to New York—the city that never sleeps.

As soon as the woman made it down the escalator, her phone began to ring.

Stepping aside for others to pass, the woman fumbled her bag, trying to reach for her phone. Successfully grabbing it, she answers itand takes a deep breath.

"Hello?"

"KHALEESI!!!" The voice on the other line was so loud she had to pull the phone away from her ear. "Khaleesi, we're waiting for you!"

"W-Where are you guys?" Khaleesi stammers.

"By the large sign leading to the long escalators. You can't miss them!"

"Uh, right…just a sec." Hanging up, Khaleesi's eyes roamed about, looking for a large sign that stood out.

Walking ahead for a moment longer, she began to see a large sign, and to the right were indeed very long escalators leading to the outside of Penn Station.

And right by those escalators, was her group of friends.

They stood with a sign that read, 'Welcome to the Big Apple!'.

Khaleesi became emotional as this was a dream she's been wanting to make happen for a few years now.

Running as fast as she can, she lets go of her belongings right before jumping into the arms of her best friend, Nia.

"I finally made it, oh my god!" Khaleesi cries.

On cue, a pair of arms wrapped around Khaleesi from behind, pulling her away from Nia.

The girl looked behind her, seeing Felix smiling with soft eyes. Khaleesi gasps, jumping into his arms next. She squealed excitedly, making the guy laugh. "Surprise, babe. I'm glad you finally made it." Felix goes in for a kiss.

Keanu smirks. "Alright guys, let's get this girl home. It's gonna rain soon."

Everyone took a bag from Khaleesi, making their way up the escalator and to their parked vehicle on a side street. On their way, Khaleesi's eyes twinkled at how bright the streets of Manhattan were.

She accidentally bumps into Felix, who abruptly stops once they reach the car.

Seeing Nia get behind the wheel, Khaleesi gawked. "No way, Nia. Since when did you have a car?"

"Since last month. She's pretty, ain't she?"

Khaleesi sits in the back next to Felix. "It looks really nice! And it suits you."

Nia laughs. "You really think so?"

"Yup!" Buckling in her seatbelt, Khaleesi looks at Felix. "I'm so happy I finally did it."

Felix's eyes soften. Taking her hand, he squeezes it gently. "Me too."

Nia peers at the couple in the backseat. "Alright kids, buckle your seatbelts in. I don't drive until we're cuffed."

Khaleesi was preparing to say something when Nia continued. "I already know Khaleesi has hers on. She's the seat belt bandit.

Everyone chuckles.

"I got mine on babe." Keanu announced. Leaning towards Nia, he whispers, "…can I get a treat tonight?"

Rolling her eyes, Nia switches gears but keeps her foot on the brakes. She leans into Keanu grinning. "Only if you behave while the children are here."

Felix and Khaleesi glances at each other.

Curious, Khaleesi scooted to the edge of her seat to fit between Keanu and Nia. "…when did you two get all lovey dovey?"

The couple blushes profusely, making Nia step on the gas hard as she pulls out of the parking spot.

Felix jolted back in his seat, prompting him to buckle his seatbelt which irked Nia. "I told you to put your seatbelt on!"

"I was gonna do it!" Felix cries.

Khaleesi squinted at Keanu who did his best to ignore her, averting his eyes out the window.

Khaleesi then pouts and sits back in her seat, folding her arms. "I cannot believe you both are a thing and I'm the last person to find out, of course!"

"Well…" Nia mumbled. "…things sort of just…happened."

"Nia casted a spell on me. And ever since then, I was never the same."

Nia punches Keanu in the arm playfully earning a slight moan from him. "Hey!"

"Casted a spell on you? Oh, really?" The woman smirks arrogantly as she drives more crisp.

"Please don't kill us before we get to our destination!" Felix shouts amidst the chaos.

Keanu apologized to Nia, caressing her thigh. "I'm sorry babe, you're right. I was drugged and woke up in your heavenly embrace. How could I taint such an experience?"

The girl rolled her eyes. "I swear you have an odd way of describing our romance."

Arriving at Felix's apartment complex, Khaleesi thanked Nia and Keanu for making time for her.

"Anytime, Khali. Are we still on for tomorrow?"

The redhead puts a thumb up and nods. "Yep."

"Alright you two lovelies. Enjoy your night!"

Felix and Khaleesi watch as they drive away. The two look at each other, realizing that they were officially alone and blushed.

"Welp, let's get these bags inside." Felix carries the heaviest luggage, prompting his girlfriend to follow behind with her lighter weights. "What do you have in these suitcases? Drugs?"

"I sell hardcore drugs," Khaleesi smirks. "Jealous?"

"Not in the slightest." Felix puts a bag down to open his door. "You're paying for the bills."

He steps aside to let her in and closes the door.

Khaleesi was astonished to see how well put together Felix's apartment was. "I'm impressed."

Pausing, Felix looks at her. "By what?"

"How nice your place is?" Walking around, Khaleesi poked at some of his belongings. "I expected you to be a slob."

"Well, living by yourself, you learn that no one's gonna pick up after you. Might as well do it yourself."

"Uh huh?" A cocky grin grew on the girl's face as she folded her arms. "So it took you leaving me behind and me not picking after you to learn how to take care of yourself?"

"It's character development, babe."

"Right." Sighing Khaleesi sprawled on the couch and groaned.

"Are you hungry?"

Khaleesi opened her eyes to see Felix standing above her. "I'm famished, Fifi."

"Khaleesi, you're still calling me Fifi?"

The redhead turned around to see her boyfriend clearer. "What? You don't like it?"

"It's not that…" He scratches the back of his head. "You know how mom used to always call me Fifi in front of the relatives and they all kept making fun of me growing up because of it."

"Only because your mom dressed you up like a cute girl, AND you had long hair, Fifi." Khaleesi chuckles.

"My mom was so wrong for that…and just because she wanted a little girl!"

"Good thing your dad came and got your mom pregnant again, huh?"

"Man," Disgusted, Felix grimaces. "I don't wanna think about that!"

Khaleesi cackles, holding her stomach.

As annoyed as Felix was with Khaleesi teasing him about his girl phase, he couldn't help but acknowledge how much he misses her smile and cute laugh.

Felix comes around the couch and sits down next to Khaleesi, who's laugh subsides seeing her lovely boyfriend putting his arm around her shoulders.

"Are you okay?" She asks.

Felix nods, placing his finger under her chin. "I've just missed you so much…"

Silence follows as their lips join. Khaleesi wraps her arms around Felix's neck, moving him to pull her in close. Khaleesi then got on his lap, resting her knees at either side of his legs.

They gaze into each other's eyes, reconnecting the spark they once had.

"Felix…" Khaleesi whispers.

"…I know what you want to say."

"Really?"

Felix nods.

Another moment of silence follows.

The blonde of a man twirled his finger through one of Khaleesi's curls, softening his eyes. "You love me."

"I do." Khaleesi speaks timidly.

The two made out for a moment longer, soon realizing that time was escaping them.

Felix separates from Khaleesi, taking a deep breath. "Let's get you some food." Getting up, he pulls out his phone, finding a food delivery app. "Do you mind me ordering from…GrubDub?"

Sitting forward, the girl smiles. "Babe, I don't mind at all. Is there anything specifically you want to order?"

"It's for you, Khali." Felix emphasizes. "I already ate before you came."

Khaleesi pouts. "How could you?"

Felix cackles ruffling Khaleesi's hair. "I'm sorry, I'll make it up to you." The blonde glances at his screen, finding a delicious spot to order from. "Want takeout? I'll get you your favorite."

"Oh, yes!" Khaleesi jumps up clapping her hands. "Boneless spare ribs, with pork fried rice?!"

"With lots of onions, scallions, and bean sprouts?" Felix adds.

Khaleesi's eyes twinkled. "And—"

In unison they shout, "Lots of BBQ sauce, ketchup, and hot sauce!"

"Oh, baby, you do love me!" Khaleesi falls into Felix's. arms crying dramatically.

Giggling, Felix rolls his eyes, catching Khaleesi in his embrace. "Alright Khali, I get it. I'll order it for you and then I'll go pick it up."

"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Khaleesi fistpumps. "Do you want me to come with you?"

"Nah," Felix puts on his jacket by the door. "Relax, babe. I know it's been a long day for you. It shouldn't take me more than…" Felix glances at his smartwatch. "Thirty minutes?"

"Thirty?!" Khaleesi yelps. "Why so long?"

"They gotta prepare the food, silly. Also, my apartment isn't close to the Chinese place. It's gonna be a bit of a journey to get your food, my Queen."

Feeling guilty, Khaleesi insisted that they deliver instead.

"I would, honestly. But it's best to be there in person to make sure they made the order right. Once it's delivered, you can't expect the delivery guy to return and exchange the order for you, sadly."

"Oh, right…"

Seeing that Khaleesi was saddened, he runs over and gives her a big kiss on the lips. "Please don't be a stranger and feel free to get comfortable and be at home. You can use the TV in the meantime. I'll make it quick. I promise." Felix takes his exit, leaving Khaleesi.

Huffing, Khaleesi sits back down.
