The party II

I filled a golden plate with cheese entries and pigs-on-a-blanket and sat on the first sofa. A very thin and long guy moved awkwardly on his seat next to the balloons.

-``I am sorry, was this seat taken?'' - It was easy to smile with the steady lights hanging on this wall, the electrifying lights were swallowed by this space's warm light.

-``No. Not really, though I am expecting someone.'' - He corrected his posture and answered firmly as though the fear that I would eat him had passed.

-``You want some?'' - I moved to the sit to the other side as I placed my plate on the table, filled with enough for four or me if I was to stay four hours.

His arms unfolded, like he was elasticman with two thin branches long enough to reach a pig-in-a-blanket without moving his torso and he spoke to me as if he knew me. I had broken the ice and given him green light for conversation. -``Thanks. So what have you chosen for next year?'' His short messy and gel-stiffen dark earthy hair and chocolate eyes contrasted with his translucent clean-shaven skin. His oval face with crevices instead of cheeks ended in an angular jaw.

-``Haven't yet! I was hoping that my exams this year would help me decide.''

-``Oh! I know exactly what I want. I am starting a Bachelor in computer engineering and before I end it I will be poached by a good corporate and will working before I have the time to finish''

-``Are you sure that is the right order? Shouldn't you finish your degree first?''

-``No. That is for those who still have to learn. About programming I could probably teach some of the teachers. '' - His words were sincere and matter of factly, which was interesting. - ``I have been scripting since I was ten, and programming since I was thirteen. It's my natural habitat, in a certain way. Kind of like my own matrix.''

-``It sure is! And you wouldn't happen to forget to live in real life or anything, now would you?'' - A bleach blond guy with sapphire eyes and a childish chubby face sat next to him. He was large in every sense. He smiled at their own private joke and Elasticman joined him. He charmingly then turned to me. - ``Sorry. I don't believe we had the pleasure. I am his anchor to palpable life. The defender of his reality and soon to be his manager.'' - Elasticman rolled his eyes and scuffed. - "What? Somebody has to make you rentable. I will stand to make a fortune of you and your freakish skill."

-``Oh, yes. He did say he was waiting for someone.'' - I smiled at them. What a nice pair.

-``And now that I am here the party may begin!'' - He opened his large arms and reclined. After his dramatic entrance he started eating from the plate I had put in front of us and they both talked like they hardly had the chance.

I was able to learn some of the mysteries and wonders of computers and have to say that being so passionate about it I almost got swayed into it. His eyes sparkled and his whole face moved when he spoke of how he could get a computer to do whatever he wanted. I envied it, even if it was only by his deep pool of chocolate eyes I found a computer beautiful. The Big baby was more aloof and rather surfed on the Elasticman's wave. Though he was more interested in electronics and boos and smoking. A brief inside joke also revealed he was into more than smoke, ``At least I know you will never be a heroin addict!'' - The Elasticman laughed.

-``How can you be certain of such a thing?'' - I teased.

-``Because he is so afraid of needles'' - He laughed endless and contagiously.

-``There you are! We have been looking all over for you!'' - A nice voice I knew only too well came from over my shoulder. I turned to find Akita and behind him my Dark Knight. He helped himself to the seat next to me. -``Scoot over, or he will not fit!'' - He pointed at my Dark Knight who seemed quite displeased.

I was in the middle of the sofa and if I had had any time to think I would have refused to move. He could fit on the other side perfectly fine, but his full smile and his eyes on mine, just left my mind drifting.

-``So you have been looking for me?'' - I answered in a pretentious way.

-``We had to make sure you were dressed properly or we had to send you back home!'' - He smiled and in response to my stink-eye he just covered his upper lip with his lower lip and gave me the looking up puppy eyes. I melted so drastically I found no solidity in the sofa, which took my weight from head to toe.

I composed myself -``And how did I do?'' - rotating the ends of my shirt in a childish movement. And as his eyes traveled from my sneakers back to my eyes, I blushed and smiled as foolishly as I felt, trying my best to keep it cool.

-``You'll pass!'' - He smiled and left his head dropped back on the couch.

I looked over him and my knight was anxious and ignoring our teasing.- ``What is it?''

He looked at me and his anguish dispersed a little. - ``Nothing! I am fine now!'' - He smiled better this time, but something made him jump at the sound of a higher note.

-``Well, you could have given it a little more color, if you ask me.'' - The Big baby answered from the other side of the table. His friend straightened on his bench, considering my face apprehensively.

-``I am more into subtle looks.'' - I said it on time before I burst to laughter at his nice inclusion in the conversation. I was being criticized by yet another soul and didn't even need to know him that well. How did this happen? The long legs of Elasticman relaxed sprung way above the bench. And he joined the whole group who smiled I don't know if about this stranger strange comment or my reaction.

-``Should I refill? You want to help?'' - I caught the empty plate and grabbed my Dark Knight with a look. We walked silently through partying parties and clogs of fun and after the plate was full and handed to him and my new one was also full. ``Tell me!''
