I took a deep breath as my head rose to the surface. My whole body is wet now, obviously, someone pulled me from the water earlier.
But there's no one around me now. I looked around and the lake looked deserted even though the sky was completely dark and the rain was slowly falling. The air became very cold because the wind was blowing hard.
I suddenly felt scared, could this lake be haunted?
Oh God, why did something bad happen to me?
I immediately got out of the lake and picked up the bag that I had left near the tree. My body was shaking from the cold. My whole body was wet and the wind was blowing very hard. It was so loud that I could hear the scraping sound of tree branches clashing.
"Watch out!"
My body froze when someone pulled me and hugged me tightly just as a large fallen tree nearly fell on me.
My breath hitched, and I almost faced my death.
"Are you okay?"
I turned around with a feeling that was still scared and stared in disbelief at that face.
"Aaron?"
"How did you get here?" Aaron said, a worried look on his face. He then took my bag and put it on then without a word he carried my body.
"holding on looks like the storm is coming faster. I have a pavilion not far from here."
All of this felt unreal, why did Aaron suddenly appear as planned in a script? What fate brought me to come when the body was limp due to fear?
I couldn't think anymore, I could only hold on tight as Aaron ran away from the big trees that could fall at any moment while the wind was getting stronger and our vision was getting blurry.
"Put me down, I can run so we can get there faster."
"Your body is shaking, how can you run? Just trust me. I won't drop you no matter what, we will be safe."
My guilt deepens, he is such a nice guy.
"I'm sorry," I mumbled softly but he couldn't seem to hear me.
Aaron was far enough away to carry me, and I finally saw a pavilion building right in the middle of this forest.
"Don't worry, even if a tree falls, the pavilion is quite far from the trees around here," Aaron said as we were almost there.
"What if the pavilion gets carried away by the wind?"
Aaron laughed at my question and replied, "If the wind blows we can take shelter in the dungeons."
"What if it floods?"
"Don't worry, this land is quite high."
"What about the avalanche?"
Aaron laughed back, what's wrong with my question?
"Why are you laughing?"
"Because you suddenly became fussy."
I couldn't help but frown and grumble, "I was just worried."
"So adorable."
"Yes?"
"The trees here won't cause a landslide."
I'm sure Aaron said something other than the trees, but I'm too embarrassed to ask anymore.
"Welcome to my pavilion, Lady..."
Aaron lowered my body as soon as we arrived. From afar this pavilion does not look big but when you are here, this pavilion is quite spacious and the building looks very sturdy.
"Come on in, we'll freeze to death if we stay outside."
Aaron then let me in, he put my bag which he had previously brought on a shelf. My wet bag was not saved while I just stood in front of the door not daring to continue any further.
"Why are you just standing there? Are you afraid of me?"
"I don't want to make the floor muddy."
"Oh come on lady, my clothes are wet too. I can mop them after we take a warm shower and change."
"I didn't bring a change of clothes, and I couldn't shower with you."
"Oh my, that's not what I meant." Aaron again stepped closer which made me even more nervous because after all, we are two cold adults. Making love is the best thing that can be done right now. I know that even though I'm still a virgin but I'm sure not with Aaron.
"I'm not teasing you, I won't touch you without your permission, so trust me."
Although I was still hesitant to welcome Aaron's outstretched hand his words won me over a bit so I took his hand and let him lead me to his room.
"Take a shower first and put on whatever clothes you want in the closet," Aaron said after showing where his bathroom and wardrobe were.
My heart is pounding, it's the first time I've walked into a man's room.
"You didn't shower?" I asked as Aaron was seen rushing away.
"I can't shower with you, can I?"
Hey he's smiling and his eyes look different, is he teasing me? My body feels hot now.
"Is it allowed?" Aaron asked coming closer.
Oh my God, why did he change so fast? He's so dangerous that even the sound of his breath makes me tremble.
I couldn't take my eyes off his handsome face, his charming smile and his strong hands that touched my waist made me want to scream.
"You are very dangerous, miss..."
"What do you mean?"
"That expression..."
I touched my face, what's wrong with my expression? I wasn't showing any expression but he made it impossible for me to escape from this tense situation.
"I will prepare hot water for you."
My chest pumped rapidly as Aaron passed past me and into the bathroom but I realized his hand was rubbing my stomach earlier.
What does he think of me? Why is my expression dangerous? Do I look like a woman who is easily seduced and can run a one-night stand with a stranger I haven't known for long?
...
I made sure the bathroom door was locked then I took off my clothes one by one. I looked at the mirror next to the bathtub, my body was naked and there was a man in the house with me.
A handsome man who can make my eyes dark easily. I hope I can pass through this storm calmly without any sighs.
I carefully entered the bathtub, the water temperature was just right, and the therapeutic aroma from the small candles near the window also calmed my mind and slowly made me sleepy.
"Calm down Jessie, you can't sleep here. Just close your eyes for a moment... Just a moment... Oh, this makes me comfortable... Just a moment... I'm not going to sleep, just a moment..."
