"My mother is dead" Dylan said in tears

Earlier he went out of his room to talk to his father so that he can help him to plead with Jocelyn, only for him to ear something this shocking

"Why didn't you tell me?" He asked with quivering lips

All his life whenever he asked about his mother, he would just tell him that she's up in the sky watching him

He never for once thought that what is father meant was that his mother was dead

"I hate you!!!" He yelled at him in tears rushing out of the room

"Dylan!!" Jocelyn shouted running after him

Dylan got into his room locking the door behind him

"Dylan!!" Jocelyn called

But he gave no response

He lay on his bed crying hard,the pain of knowing that the mother he was expecting, the one he had long for his dead is so unbearable

"He lied to me" he said crying bitterly

"I know you're in there listening to me but you should understand the reason why your father didn't tell you,no father would know how to tell their child that his mother is gone,especially a seven year old boy!" She said

But he gave no response

"You should be happy that you have him as your father, think about those who have no father and those who have no parent,you are not an orphan, want to know a truth?" She asked

No response

"I don't know who my parent was?,I don't know whether they are dead or alive,I live alone with my new mother,All the adopted children then became my siblings, do you know the pain of being abandoned by your parent, do you know the pain of being alone with no close relatives, cherish what you have now Dylan"

No response

"I understand how you feel but don't only look at the negative side it will weigh you down,look at the bright positive side,you have a rich father who loves you sincerely, have you ever asked Mandy where are father was?" She asked feeling emotional herself

"Because she has no one to call her biological parent in this world,her parent were dead in an accident, her mother last wish was that I should take care of her like my child,I should make sure she's happy" she said cleaning the tear that roll down her eye

No response

"Don't you think that your mother would also want you to be happy?" She said

"OK,I will be your new mother,how about that" She said

Dylan open the door immediately she said that,his eyes were all red

"It hurt so much" he said crying in her arms

Jocelyn carried him in her arms gently dropping him on the bed

"Why can't he just tell me?" He asked crying

Jocelyn didn't bother to tell him to stop crying, he had to let it out,in other to be free

"You promise to be my mother,you have to fulfil your promise,you know everyday in school I was always been ridicule because I didn't have a mother,there was a time where we have a mummy's day party in my school,I felt left out seeing how every child was celebrating their mother,I can't tell my father to come ,of course it was a mummy's day party"he said

"It's okay,am here now" she said

"You should sleep beside me today,Anabelle told me that her mother always sleep beside her" he said

"OK" Jocelyn said laying beside him

After few minutes,Dylan slept off,Jocelyn attempt to pull his hand away so she could go to her room but his grip was tight,having no choice she slept beside him after staring at him

Kingsley entered the room,the sight warm his heart

"Am sorry Dylan" he said kissing his forehead

He had been listening right from when Jocelyn stood at his door

"He didn't know that his son was been ridicule for not having a mother,but he's somehow happy that he might find a mother's love from Jocelyn,he also felt pity for Jocelyn when she said her story

He walk out of the room after switching off the light

"She's awake right?" Brittany asked happily entering inside Ronnie's office, he's the one on duty

"Yes,she is,since you're here let's go and check on her" he said professionally
