The Emperor's "Misunderstanding"

"Master, I apologize I failed you!" Spirit suddenly banged her head on the ground which surprised her father.

"Guardian of Spirit!?" Emperor Hustein couldn't believe what he just heard. He hoped that this was all just confusion.

For him, the Guardians were the highest existence in Ressuim since no Gods would come down here. Since this man does not emit the holy aura a God usually has, then who is he to step on the Guardian of Spirit!?

"Spirit, if you really want to apologize, get off my foot now." Ayensi sighed.

'Eh? But you're the one who's pushing her head on the ground...' the eunuch sweated a bead just from seeing this scene.

'If the news about the Guardian of Spirit getting her head step on by a stranger spreads, one could only imagine the worst!'

The eunuch, the one person who actually thought of the empire's welfare at the moment ordered the other servants.

"Get out of here this instant." he whispered, "And I know your faces. I need to talk to you later!"

Out of fear, they immediately got out of the guest room.

"Right away, Ma-" Spirit's words were cut off again when Ayensi's foot tap on her forehead.

Spirit gasped over her mistake and repeated, "I apologize... Ayensi!"

Ayensi nodded and patted the seat beside him, "Now, introduce me to the Emperor." he stayed calm even though he was clearly aware how the first impression had already failed.

'There's always another emperor for the Guardians to introduce me to.'

"Yes!" Spirit obeyed him without hesitation and sat beside him. In a blink of an eye, her expression professionally changed, "Emperor Hustein, please take your seat."

Emperor Hustein who was still shocked by how her daughter acted didn't hear a thing.

Ayensi looked at the gawking expression of this emperor. He controlled himself from snapping his fingers and cutting the Emperor's legs so that he can only take a seat.

Once again, Ayensi is extremely patient. However, it was another matter if his time was being wasted by a mortal he could easily crush.

It's like a bodybuilder restraining himself not to defeat an arrogant and obnoxious kid in an arm wrestle.

Sensing Ayensi's mood, Spirit repeated with a larger voice, "Emperor Hustein, please take a seat."

Emperor Hustein finally snapped out of his shock and slowly went to his seat with a word of rebuttal.

Even though he's the father and foremost, the emperor, he is much lower than the Guardian. He could only casually call her "Spirit" because she had yet to sever their connections, making him still the father.

"Emperor Hustein, I am here today to introduce you to the wonderf-... ehem... to Ayensi Sole Tiowen. I'm recommending him to you so that you could appoint him as the new Imperial Knight Captain."

"Eh?" Emperor Hustein reacted.

'Is eh the only language this man knows?' not just Ayensi, Shiena had the same thought.

She too wanted to put this emperor in his place since he was in the presence of the one and only Ayensi Sole Tiowen.

'However, I can't betray Ayensi's expectations... Ayensi hehe...' now that she got the permission to directly call Ayensi by his name, she was thoroughly abusing it in her mind.

"Spirit... can you repeat that?" Emperor Hustein had a lot of questions. But despite his inability to properly react, he is still the Great Emperor and after a short moment, he retained his composition.

'There must be a valid reason for her to act like this. I know my daughter for the longest time. I know for sure that this man is someone higher than her...' his eyes shook upon realization, '... a God!? After all, it wouldn't be surprising that she would prostrate in front of a God! Furthermore, for him to have the guts to step on her, he could only be a God! How can I, a mere mortal, expect that the Gods doesn't have ways to hide their magnificent holy aura!?'

The Great Emperor then rolled his eyes towards Shiena.

'Then what about her. Is she a Goddess? No, judging from how she gazes at this man... I have heard of it! Gods taking mortals as their concubines! After all, this woman is incredibly beautiful...'

He was clearly wrong. However, he couldn't be blamed. Any other person put in this situation would've their mind muddled already. Yet, Emperor Hustein was able to think clearly that even the eunuch was unable to keep up.

"Emperor Hustein, I said that I am recommending you to appoint this man to become the new Imperial Knight Captain." Spirit repeated.

With his conclusion, the Great Emperor was able to calm himself down...

'Wait, did you mean I just shouted at a God?!'

... or not.

The Great Emperor began sweating profusely.

"Sure... sure... is that all? Of course, I can arrange that."

Spirit's eyebrows were raised at first, a moment later, she finally understood.

'As expected of father to caught on to the situation. I hope Master Ayensi is satisfied with this.'

Shiena, who still had her eyes stuck on Ayensi thought, 'Is this okay? Making Ayensi below this Emperor... haa~ but knowing him, I'm sure that this Emperor would be the one kneeling just a week later.'

Meanwhile, it was Ayensi who caught on to what was really happening.

'His tone changed. This fool certainly misunderstood. Something, he must think that I'm God or something. However, this is not pointless. Once I get a position, I will have the foundation to appoint myself as a diplomatic ambassador so that I will get to meet other emperors and have a proper conversation. After all, letting a Guardian introduce me should be a bit strange in their perspective.'

He internally smiled.

'This is going smoothly as expected.'

Emperor Hustein then continued.

"However, as much as I want to, we can't just let him fill that position since that will garner unwanted attention from the others."

To this, Ayensi added, "Emperor, so you want me to prove my strength?"

"Is that fine... umm... Ayensi?" under a misconception, the Great Emperor politely asked.

Spirit thought that her father was giving her face while Shiena was confused on why this man's attitude changed too much.

On the other hand, Ayensi didn't found it strange since he was aware that the emperor was under a misconception.

"Yes, that's my favorite thing to do."
