Chapter 10: Sweeper and Keeper

"Just as I thought," Tahara confirmed.

"Sugawara is the beast," Tahara announced.

Before Tahara could pull out his sword, a large snake appeared out of nowhere and gobbled up Sugawara.

Miyaguchi couldn't contemplate the scene so she turned away as she began to vomit.

The snake then turned and noticed Tahara and Miyaguchi.

"As the name suggests," Tahara said.

"This snake has just been awoken," he continued.

"What do we do now?" Miyaguchi cried out.

"The entrance has been blocked and now we are going to be killed by a large snake," Miyaguchi said as she got on her knees.

Miyaguchi came close to Tahara and asked him if he knew about this.

Tahara didn't respond but looked at the snake.

"The fangs are poisonous," Tahara explained.

I'm sure the noise of the blast made by Sugawara's guys woke this giant snake.

"So this is the boss," Tahara let out.

Meanwhile, outside the tomb, Samon and Juba as well as Nomi, Furuse, and Tarsuke were wondering why they were trapped outside.

Samon immediately activated his ability as he was gearing the cries of Miyaguchi from inside the cave.

"It was a trap to lure us out here," Samon explains.

"What do you mean?" Juba asked.

Sugawara is the killer after all and all he wants is to get Miyaguchi's flames.

"What!" Furuse yelled.

"It appears Samon is right, all his sound hearings are accurate," Juba said.

Juba then pulled out her sword and pointed it at Furuse, Nomi, and Tarsuke.

"I'll kill you," she said.

Back inside the tomb, the snake was crawling around Tahara and Miyaguchi.

"Tahara get behind me," Miyaguchi ordered.

"With your rank, I'm not sure you can defeat this thing, even with my rank but I'll still try," Miyaguchi said as she brought out her flames.

"Hmmm!

Two large Fangs!

Which scale?

Enormous size!" Tahara said.

This beast will be worth stressful, but that doesn't stop me from executing my duty.

Tahara then came in front of Miyaguchi and told her to stay still.

"Are you crazy! You can't defeat this thing," Miyaguchi let out.

"Besides, you are an F-Rank swordsman," she said.

It's worth trying Tahara said as he pulled out his Sweeper and Keeper.

"Just as the system said," Tahara said.

Tahara then rushed towards the Faun and used his sweeper to stab its body.

Tahara run towards the snake again and used his sweeper to slice off the snake's belly.

"Its skin is tough," Tahara said.

"No way!" Miyaguchi said.

"Is Tahara an F-Rank?" she asked herself.

"I can't follow his movements at all," she said.

"I've got to help him," she said.

Tsk!

"I'm losing strength," Tahara said.

Miyaguchi then threw a flame back on the top cave as some rocks came colliding with the snake.

Samon and Juba on the other end could hear the rocks falling inside.

"We've got to hurry," Samon said to Juba as they were still fighting Sugawara's teammate.

"How much longer," Juba asked.

"10-15 minutes," Samon replied.

"Tahara, are you okay?" Miyaguchi asked.

"I'm fine," he said as he got up.

"Thanks for the help anyway," he said.

"We need to come up with a plan to defeat this snake," Miyaguchi said.

The place then began to shake as the Faun began to free itself from the rocks which had collided with it.

"Miyaguchi, how long does it take to bring out those fireballs," Tahara asked.

"3-4 minutes," she replied.

"Right! I need you to create as many fireballs as you can and on my signal you release them," Tahara explained.

"What if it doesn't work?" Miyaguchi asked.

"It will work, for sure," he said as Tahara raced towards the Faun before it could free itself.

Tahara quickly jumped on the Fauns' back and then went to its head and used his swords to pierce the head.

"As I thought, its body is strong but the head/mind is weak," Tahara said.

Tahara quickly let go of his swords and then gave the signal.

At that moment, Miyaguchi released 20 fireballs at the snake.

The snake then fell to the ground as it couldn't move.

Tahara went to the snake's head to withdraw his swords.

"Time to die," Tahara yelled.

Tahara used his swords to cut off the Faun's head as it was over for it.

Miyaguchi then run to Tahara and hugged him.

"Thank you for saving my life," Miyaguchi said.

Tahara smiled back and hug Miyaguchi.

"I smell romance in the air," Juba said.

"Juba, how did you get inside?" Miyaguchi asked.

"Oh well, I transported myself," she explained.

"Where's Sugawara?" Samon asked.

"He's dead!" Tahara explained.

Wow!

"So who killed that snake lying on the ground?" Juba asked.

Miyaguchi used her eyes to point at Tahara for was the one who killed the snake.

"What Rank was it?" she asked.

"Tahara, are you an F-Rank swordsman," Juba said to herself.
