Without reason

A few thoughts came to Adiria's mind, wondering what was going on and where she was, for she saw nothing but darkness around her and she realized that it was starting to get hard to breathe as though she was in an enclosed area, with limited air and she began pawning for breath. 

'What's going on?' She wondered and just then, she saw light meeting her eyes and when she rose up, she took a deep breathe, realizing that she was being somewhat tortured. 

"Will you tell us the truth?" A woman asked as Adiria began breathing heavily, while water dripped from her face and hair, onto her body. 

The girl glanced at the large tub of water before her and she lowered her head, realizing what was going on there and she exhaled deeply before glancing at the woman, which was the very same one that was sent to search her room, the other day and she scoffed. 

"What's so funny?" She asked. 

"The fact that you believe doing this will get you the answers that you seek, I have nothing to give you, I don't have what you are looking for, you know, what you are doing here is not right, right?" She asked as they shoved her head down in the water once more and her eyes glowed slightly. 

'I am not going to let this slide, this is torture without proper reasoning and they don't even have any sorts of proof,' She thought as they pulled her back up and she coughed. 

As Adiria coughed, the woman looked down at her, with her eyes narrowed, clearly telling her to give them what they want or it wouldn't be good but, they were underestimating Adiria to a length and she was not someone who was going to let others hurt her anymore. 

"Hey, I am warning you, stop this," She said as she looked up at the woman with a piercing look in her eyes. 

"So that's a no? Again," She replied. 

At the same time, lady Anyel's son, who was passing by, saw what they were doing and his eyes widened as he screamed out to them to stop, but they sent him inside, saying they were just doing their jobs and he shouldn't be there. 

"It's okay, I am okay, go inside, kid...." She mumbled as they raised her up from the water and the whip that tied her hand back, got tighter and she gritted her teeth. 

The child rushed inside as they kept on torturing Adiria, while asking questions, she had no answer to, the kid, who knew that they were hurting the girl, screamed out his mother's name as he was heading to her chamber. 

Upon hearing his screams, she rushed outside and he hugged her tightly while panting and tears in his eyes, as she stared at him, wondering what was going on, for she was confused by his behavior. 

"What's the matter? Why are you so scared?" She asked. 

"They are hurting her..." He responded. 

"Huh? What are you talking about?" She asked. 

"Adiria, she is hurt, they wouldn't stop," He responded and Anyel's eyes widened as she lifted her kid up in her arms and ran off in Adiria's direction. 

After a few minutes, lady Anyel arrived in the outer courtyard and her eyes widened, when she saw that they were torturing the girl and she clenched her fists in anger. 

"Stop this, this instant!" She shouted as she approached them and just then, they were going to use the whip on Adiria. 

"Look out," Adiria said, for the whip was going to hit Anyel and she got up, despite her hands being tied. 

She ripped the whip that was using to tie her hand, apart and grabbed onto the other whip, stopping it from hitting anyone and the woman glanced at her as did the others. 

"That's enough, you are not going to get anything from me, stop this before you do something you are going to regret," She said before releasing the whip and Anyel glanced at her. 

"I am sorry about this, lady Anyel but please do not interfere in our work, we need to do this, she is quite suspicious," The woman said and Anyel chuckled. 

"I don't care what you think, do not lay a hand on her again, I will make sure you regret it, suspicious? Her? Have you forgotten how many times she saved us? She did a better job than any of you could do," She replied and the woman's eyes narrowed. 

"I understand why you are emotional but, we will do our job," She said. 

Just as the ones that were working for her, was about to grab Adiria, she grabbed them by their airs and flicked them over, the she looked at their leader with her eyes narrowed. 

"Hey, I have tolerated you for long enough, I warned you before, don't make me do it again because then I will make sure you regret it, I will not let anyone bully me, I don't care how high your ranking is," She said with a piercing look in her eyes. 

A few of the remaining ones, which were with the one, rushed to capture Adiria and she glanced back at them before moving Anyel aside. 

Just as they were about to grab her, she dodged them and picked up the whip from the ground with a smirk on her face. 

"Let's see how you like it," She said as she flung the whip around, hitting each one of them that tried touching her and the woman stared at the way she was using the whip. 

The girl wrapped it around a few of them, flicking them over and hitting them where it would hurt and when she was finished, she turned to the woman. 

"Stop looking down on others you don't have any sort of proof nor proper reasoning to be doing this, I will not let this go since I have done nothing wrong, you are just biased," She said and the woman clenched her fist as Anyel smiled. 

"I will make sure the emperor teaches you a good lesson," Anyel added. 

She grabbed Adiria's arm and left the courtyard with her, while the injured ones that were working with her got up and left staring at the girl, for they were not expecting that.
