Adiria felt a shiver running up her spine as the creature before her, stared at her and she swallowed, never had she seen such a creature before, one that was not supposed to be from their realm, for before her stood a demon, something she never got the chance of seeing, where she came from, due to her father and the others protecting their city.
The girl took a step back as it growled with its tail twirling behind it and as it walked, parts of the ground cracked and her brows furrowed as she looked around her and at the same time, lady Anyel and her kid were passing by and she gasped when she saw the creature.
"A demon?" She asked and Adiria's eyes widened.
"Hey, run!" Adiria shouted as she shoved the woman and her child out of the way, as the creature leaped forward and the woman's eyes widened.
"Adiria..." She mumbled.
Adiria turned around and the beast was about to attack her but at the same time, the young lord jumped in front of her, cutting off the very limb that it was going to use to attack her.
"Are you okay?" He asked as he stood before her with his blade by his side and their eyes met.
"Yeah... I am okay..." She mumbled, for she couldn't believe what she was seeing, at the time.
'Creatures like these exist in our world alongside magic and as I was told by my father, just as magic brings good, it brings evil as well,' She thought as a piercing look appeared in her eyes.
Sorang and his men began fighting the creature and the girl looked carefully at the way they were moving, not giving the beast a chance to attack and due to how much of a good fighter the young master was, he made it look as though it was easy to fight such a thing.
'I may not like him but his skills when the blades are concerned, are better than most,' She thought as her eyes narrowed.
'If I am really going to survive the path that I have chosen for myself, I am going to need to get stronger, I cannot fumble at the sight of such a thing, never or everything would go in vein, I am not going to let that happen,' She thought as the creature turned towards her.
Her eyes shimmered with determination as she looked it right in the eyes and the beast's eyes widened as it took a step back and her eyes began glowing slightly as a marking appeared in one of them.
Just then, Adiria felt as though they were being watched and she clenched her fist as she looked at the blade by her feet but she thought ten times before picking it up and letting people know that she could fight.
She wanted to act the part she was given for a while longer, just so that she could earn her spot in the palace and didn't want to drag any sort of suspicion.
The girl ignored the blade and just stood there, the young master saw that the beast was looking at her and decided to take advantage of the chance he was given.
'Something is wrong with me, I feel no fear anymore, I don't feel the same way I did a few minutes...' She thought and she gasped when she saw her reflection in the blade and saw another version of herself, beside her.
"Am I seeing things now?" She asked as she held onto her head and the reflection beside her, disappeared and she exhaled deeply.
'What was that just now?' She wondered as Lady Anyel came to her and she tapped Adiria on her shoulder as the ground beneath their feet shook.
"What was that?" She asked and her eyes widened when she saw that the young master took down such a creature on his own and when he turned around to look at them, her brows furrowed.
Blood was splattered on his face and it ran down the tip of his sword and there was a piercing look in his eyes, she was surprised, that someone like him, who was slightly goofy and was a pretty boy, could look like that, as though he had no emotions and was ready to kill on spot, he almost looked fearless.
Just then he winked at her and she flinched before turning away.
'Nope, what was I thinking there for a second? He is still the weird young master, who likes to flaunt his beauty and be praised by the young women in this place, ugh...' She thought.
"Are you okay?" Lady Anyel asked as the young master approached them.
"Yeah, I am fine, don't worry about me," She responded.
"What do you think of my skills?" He asked as he leaned in closer to Adiria and a blank expression appeared in her eyes.
"I thank you for saving a lowly servant like myself, but I cannot comment on your skills for I am in no place to do that, though I must say, there is more to you than just being a pretty boy who loves attention, I have to say, you are quite strange indeed, please excuse me," She responded.
'There was a marking in my eyes, I have to look into what's going on with me, this is not normal,' She thought before sighing.
Adiria walked away and both Lady Anyel as well as him left staring at her and everything that she just said, repeated in his head and his brows twitched in irritation, realizing she had no interest in him and didn't like him either.
"Well, that's the first, what's her problem? And you say I am the strange one?" He asked and a smirk appeared on his face.
"Oh no, he is up to something, you have my regards, Adiria," Lady Anyel mumbled then left and the young master's eyes narrowed.
After everyone went to do their own things, two figures, who were in a tree and were watching the entire incident, released a bird with a message and the guy among the two, eyes narrowed as he looked at the dead beast, which was being taken care of by the soldiers.
"This is only the beginning, the rift has started," He said then disappeared with the woman beside him.
