After a while

After the girl and the creature disappeared into thin air, upon reaching the edge of the cliff, the soldiers didn't see them and believed that both of them fell to their death, due to how high it was and no normal human would be able to survive such an impact.

A little while after, when the girl thought that she was dead, she opened her eyes and felt nothing but pain throughout her body, realizing she was very much alive and wondered what happened.

"You are awake?" Someone asked as she turned beside her and saw a man standing before her.

"Who are you?" She asked as she began seeing clearly and he looked down at her with a slight smile on his face as she tried to sit up.

"Don't, don't get up, you will only hurt yourself, your body needs to rest, it has been through a lot, so have you, don't worry, you are safe and far away from those who wanted to hurt you, I will look after you, relax, I am here now," He said in a soft tone.

After hearing him speak, the girl began feeling relaxed and a smile appeared on her face as she thanked him and he patted her on her head with his brows furrowed, clearly showing how worried he was about her.

"Why are you helping me?" She asked.

"Because that's what family is supposed to do, I am sorry, my dear child," He responded as he placed his hand against her cheek.

Feeling the warmth that came from him, she knew he meant no harm to her but at the same time, a lot of questions were risen inside of her head, ones that confused her a lot but at the time, all she decided to do, was rest.

"Thanks..." She mumbled, falling asleep, while holding onto his hand.

He smiled at her, as the creature that came with her and who was sitting beside her at the time, glanced at him and he scoffed.

'For some reason, he seems quite familiar to me, wait... He mentioned family... I know this man, I know it, it's him, it is indeed him... Please let it be him...' She thought as he stood up then rushed out of the room and went outside.

The guy was tall, slim, was dressed neatly, had long black and grey hair, which was in a ponytail, he was fair, had a slim face with a few wrinkles by the side of his eyes, which were green in colour.

'He looks like a guy... I met when I was a child...' She thought as she flung up from her sleep then rushed out of the room, looking a bit nervous.

When she saw the front door of the house was open, she rushed outside and saw him standing there, taking in the fresh air and her brows furrowed as she held onto her waist.

"Are you that eager to see me? Adiria?" He asked as he turned to look at her and a few memories came flashing before her eyes, each which were happy ones and he smiled at her.

"You came back... You are alive...." She responded as she rushed to him, hugging him tightly and he gently wrapped his arm around her, as tears streamed down her cheeks.

"Yeah, I am sorry that I didn't come back sooner, I know what's going on, I am sorry, Adiria," He said as he passed his fingers through her silky hair.

"It's okay, I am just happy that you are alive, uncle, after mom's death I never saw you again, I was worried, but I am glad," She replied and he smiled as he looked at her.

"I had reasons to not contact you guys, you were all better off without me, my life is not easy, I only ever saw you once in your life and that was when you were very small, but I am glad you remember me," He said.

"Of course, I would, you are mother's only family, there is no way I would forget you," She replied.

"I see, the time I spent with you and your family then, was one of the best moments in my life, I am sorry that I wasn't there for you, when you needed me, the most, but now I am here, is it okay if I take over from here?" He asked as she raised off of him and he wiped her tears.

"I have a goal in mind, I feel as though there are many things I have to do now, but I don't want to get you into trouble," She responded and his eyes narrowed.

"Don't worry about that, after all, you are in the imperial city, no one can do you anything here as long as you are willing to change," He said.

"I see...Huh? The Imperial City? What? How did I get here?" She asked and he chuckled at her reaction then he sighed.

"Don't worry about that, just know that you are safe and you have a chance to start over, something which not much people can get," He responded.

The girl exhaled deeply, for she was feeling a little more at ease now, even though she was hurting, her uncle was not one she knew about before, until one day he came to visit when her mother was alive, she spent a great deal of time with him but didn't see him, ever again after her mother passed.

Her uncle was quite a mysterious person, who was hardly even talked about and she probably would have never even known about him before, if he hadn't come to visit her, but she knew there were reasons for that, ones which she couldn't ask, at the moment.

"Adiria, I don't know what you have in mind, but you need to make a change, I know that it's soon, too soon but in order to survive this brutal world, you need to make a decision now," He said and she glanced at him.

"I know, my life is gone, all that is left is my name, I know that I can't go back..." She replied as she clenched her fists and he lowered his gaze before sighing.

"Then, there is one way that can help you do certain things, would you like to start over here, as my daughter even if by just name, Adiria?" He asked and her eyes widened as she looked at him.

He brought forth his hand with a smile on his face and the cold wind blew heavily, causing her hair blow in front of her face as the bracelet, which was now on her wrist, began glowing a little and her eyes shimmered.
