Grace's POV
“Thank you,” I sighed, before stepping back and looking up at him. “For everything.”
“Be safe,” he said softly, and a genuine smile lingered on his lips as he reached out and caressed my chin. The motion wasn’t sexual, but it still felt good to be treasured by someone again.
He let go of me and Pax quickly took my place and hugged him tightly.
“I’ll miss you,” she sniffled, her huge eyes watering as she looked up at the tall Vampire Master. “You’re the best vampire I know!”
Well, what do you know? The big guy had to loudly and repeatedly clear his throat as he quickly hugged the small Fae back.
“Right back at you, kiddo,” he grinned, pretending that his eyes weren’t glossy, as he ruffled her hair. He then turned to Jack, who’d pulled out a huge, black coat from the vampire’s closet. “No hugs for me, wolf?”
“Any closer and I’ll kill you,” was Jack's mumbled reply, as he swung the backpack onto his back.
