Castyr Camping

"So that lizard boss dropped a dagger but its a damn mage weapon. The sneaky castyr dropped some rare materials we could turn into gear and the other castyr's threw out a few mats as well but nothing special." Elrick says as he finishes setting up a small tank around the campfire before looking up at his party.

Hilda's fingers are turning red as she grips her stone sword while she stares venomously at Chunk while Jenny hides behind her legs while glancing at the chubby teen in fear and awe. Chunk glances over his shoulder at the two before he finishes setting up the campfire and pulling out several long skewers loaded with veggies and meat, the array of food smelling of fruit and spices as he stabs the naked ends into the ground to begin roasting the food.

"Hey Elrick you have any salt by chance? Wanna try preserving one of these bodies before they fade into the dungeon. If it works we could farm for meat other than the drops for the settlement." Chunk asks quietly before catching the sack of salt the dwarf throws at him.

"Just try to be neat about it, to much blood could attract more mobs and we aren't prepared for that. While you get the food together I'll grab that satchel and see what it has for us." Replies Elrick as he walks towards the satchel at the edge of the room.

'Hey Tilly, Emi, why are the girls treating Chunk like that? I mean he surprised everyone with his transformation but he saved them pretty much and he's even cooking food?' I can't help but ask as I watch both girls begin trying to make a fire away from the boys, their whispering voices being projected perfectly to me as they call the rotund teen a monster and demon or even refer to him as being filled with evil.

"I have this one Tilly for its partially the fault of demons. Most civilized or intelligent races view those with the curse of lycanthropy regardless of the animal curse as demon spawn. A demon king of bestiality first created the curse at the beginning of time and set the creations onto the world. These beasts had the single goal of finding humanoid species and mating with them forcefully or otherwise and by doing this a curse was created. Any child born of such a union would eventually unlock a transformation, taking on the aspects of that demonic beast. Eventually the curse was thinned out and it adapted to being able to be transmitted from either children or from a bite during their transformation. A lot of lycans also have little control while transformed leading others to view them as monsters or demon beasts. The fact he can control it to his extent means his curse is both pure and his family trained him to handle the stress." Emi rattles out reminding me of a professor I used to have, an old woman of tiny stature that would try and explain an entire lesson in one sentence without breathing until the end.

'Thanks Emi, but next time Spark notes please.' I say with a laugh as she looks confused ands asks Tilly what notes sparking mean. Watching the party separate themselves from each other I can't help but frown at how disjointed the people of this world are before I begin forming an idea.

"Foods done guys! We have some castyr kabobs with a few tubers that grow wild around these parts, some marinated grave crawler tentacles and for desert I got my hands on some honey cakes! Dig in and tell me what ya think!" Announces Chunk excitedly as he already begins devouring one of the skewers while Elrick grabs one with tentacles roasted on it. Jenny begins slowly inching towards the fire before Hilda grabs the small girl and moves her back to their fire and meal, dried castyr jerky and water.

"We can't eat with that creature. Your god would probably disown you and that meat isn't probably people. If we're lucky Anissa will see it and kill it before it tries to murder us during the night." Hilda whispers viscously while staring at the fat teen puffing on a new skewer while trying to down a small cup of mead.

"Hilda lay off of Chunk. He saved your useless ass and on top of it he actually thought to bring real food. Lycans are common in dwarves since we tend to fight a lot of creatures in the mountains and they can be challenging to live with they aren't inherently evil. Well....still haven't found a werebat that was a decent person but still. Plus the loot in the satchel was great and if you don't claim your new weapon I'm selling it for beer money so pull the staff out of your ass and get over here." Elrick admonishes the tall girl as she glares at him with hate before Jenny cautiously moves towards the dwarf and wereboar.

"Good to see you kids are at least smart enough to recognize a gift, well almost all of you." shouts a voice as everyone grabs their weapons and point them towards the entrance to the room, a woman standing before them with a cocky smile appearing from nowhere.

"Calm yourselves, if I wanted you dead you would be and quickly to. My name is Tyr and I represent the dungeons interests and it seems to have taken an interest in your group. He has sent me to give you two things, first as a thank you to Sir Chunsly for allowing it to learn of lycans it has granted you this piece of armor. It should help with the control issues and transformation." Tyr says as she throws a chest piece in front of the fat teen.

{Beastial Anchor Item Type- Unique Chestpiece Effects/blessing- While transformed, a lycan wearing this armor gains immunity from rage and stat impairing debuffs. Also grants the wearer the skill Ironhide. Ironhide-The user coats the fur and hair of their body in earth elemental energy, causing all hair and fur to become as durable as iron. Has a chance of causing pieces of fur or hair to impale enemies that attack physically.}

"Secondly the dungeon has issued a challenge, or quest, to your group. If you can provide an adequate fight to the first floor boss then you will be rewarded with the one thing your party lacks. Also the Amazonian girl is a detriment to your party with the whole evil racist thing she's pulling. Fix her or the dungeon will do it for her." Tyr says cheerfully with a malicious smile, her eyes shining violently as she turns and walks away while the party stares at the disappearing figure of the woman.

Hey all I know its been a bit and wanted to explain and apologize. My house got broken into a while back and I was assaulted and shot at during the break in. Since then I've been having some anxiety and mental health problems and have been trying to focus on getting back to not being scared 24/7. I'm just now starting to get back on track but still have my moments but I've felt horrible not getting to write so I'm back on a semi regular basis now. I'm also looking into having an artist friend of mine to sketch out and draw the different monsters and people in the novel and may do a patrreon to help fund my writing as well(Still undecided) Anyways Sorry about the lack of reading and thank you for staying with me, hopefully you'll enjoy what I have planned in the future for this novel!
