Chapter 41

He washed up, dressed, drank his coffee, and then visited his mother on the other side of the house. “Good morning, Mom.”

“Good morning, dear. I hope that Enzo put that smile on your face. I caught a glimpse of him this morning fetching your robe.” Genevieve grinned.

Gray blushed. “Mom, you’re not supposed to notice that or if you do, you’re not supposed to tell me.”

Genevieve sat up straighter in her chair and giggled. Her girlish giggle, the one he hadn’t heard in so long, gave him a warm feeling in his chest. He had another thing to thank Enzo for.

“Move into his room. You’ll hear no complaints from me. You have an incandescent smile on your face that I’m happy to see. You haven’t smiled like that since I got sick.”

“Yes, move into my room. Then we don’t have to run up and down the hall like adolescents.” Gray jumped at the sound of Enzo’s voice.

“Good morning, Genevieve” Enzo bowed and gave her a smile. “I’m glad I have your approval.”
