Chapter 14

“Gray couldn’t tell you himself because he has a crush on you, and he said if you knew, you wouldn’t believe him. But he was so worried about you that he embarrassed himself by telling me the whole story and begging me to tell Carlo.” Bobby gestured to the two chairs in front of Keith’s desk. “Take a load off.”

In a lightning-fast change of mood, Enzo’s face screwed up in mirth.

“So you called Carlo?” Enzo asked, laughing.

“No, I had Keith do it. He knows Carlo better than I do, but he didn’t get the job done,” Bobby said gruffly. He didn’t try to hide his irritation.

“Let me guess, Carlo said that I would figure out what Mike was myself and that I wouldn’t appreciate the interference. He was right. I don’t think Gray would exactly love you for telling me about his crush either. Carlo told the truth. You are up in everyone’s business, well meant, but definitely a busybody.”

Keith laughed so hard he almost fell off the chair. He glanced over at Bobby. “He sure has your number.”
