Attack On Titan: Goodbyes

**Alternate Universe** A Romance based fiction Eren Yeager: the son of Grisha and Carla Yeager, a boy consumed by one mission—to annihilate every last titan. But beyond that, Eren was drawn to the allure of the world beyond the walls. He dreamed of its untamed beauty, a vision he shared with his best friend, Armin. They imagined together: water that glowed like fire, fields of ice, giant rocks that took days to climb. Yet, their story wasn’t a fairy tale, destined for a happy ending. The hopes of their youth were shattered into a thousand irreparable shards when Armin Arlert was taken from this world. Fate stole his light, leaving Eren adrift in a sea of darkness. The dreams they once nurtured, the future they envisioned, vanished with Armin's final breath. Now, all Eren could do was stand amidst the wreckage, helpless, his purpose and his dream crushed beyond recognition. Amidst those heart-wrenching days, it was Mikasa Ackerman—the girl Eren saved from kidnappers during their childhood—who offered him the solace he desperately needed. Just as he once gave her a place to call home, now she was there for him. He had always pushed her away, frustrated by her protective nature, demanding her to stop treating him like a child. Yet now, with the weight of grief suffocating him, he needed her more than ever. As the story unfolds, you’ll see how their bond deepens and *********..... Mikasa POV

Moonlight cast an ethereal glow over us, wrapping everything in its gentle silver light. Eren's eyes held mine, soft and intent, as if I were the only thing that existed in his world. My heart raced, my cheeks were warm, but a quiet smile settled on my face as we took each other in, our tear-streaked faces mirroring emotions too big for words.

"Hey, Eren... Thank you," I whispered, my voice barely more than a breath, as I let my head fall softly onto his shoulder. He held me close, his hand trailing tenderly down my hair before he pressed a gentle kiss there, and I felt his warmth sink deeper, melting into me. "Um..." he murmured, his chin resting against my head as we stayed entwined in the stillness.

"Eren... I... I was thinking about something.." I said, a strange, sudden thought creeping into my mind, one I could barely believe I was brave enough to say aloud.

"Hm?" His thumb traced soft circles on my cheek, making me blush under his touch.

"Well... now that we're married... I mean, can I... can I change my last name?" I managed, glancing away shyly as a soft laugh escaped his lips. His laughter was soft, playful, almost like a melody I'd longed to hear.

"Only if you want to," he replied, adjusting me gently on his lap as I settled against him, cheeks burning. I stared down at the ground, barely holding my voice steady. "I was thinking... Mikasa Eren."

Before I knew it, he was laughing, that pure, innocent sound that warmed me more than any fire ever could. I found myself smiling along, captivated by his joy, savoring each soft sound that felt like it was made just for me.

"Wait… Mikasa Eren?" Eren teased, his chuckle soft but full of amusement. "Come here, you…" He gently pulled me closer, adjusting me on his lap until our foreheads touched, our smiles blending into the quiet. "I was thinking Mikasa Yeager… It suits you better, hm? My dear wife," he murmured, pressing a light kiss to my nose.

A tear slipped down my cheek, and I leaned in, kissing him back gently. "Yeah… it does sound better," I whispered, the weight of that simple word—wife—filling me with warmth. We stayed like that, lost in our closeness, until I remembered how long he'd been holding me.

"Ereh… I'm not heavy, am I?" I asked, laughing a little, only for him to grin back at me.

"Well… I've been trying to move my leg, but it's a bit numb. Mind scooting over just a bit?" His playful tone made my cheeks go red as I slid off him, sitting beside him and looking away shyly.

Before I could react, Eren's arms circled around my waist, drawing me back onto his lap, only this time, my back was to his chest. "Ereh…" I gasped, feeling his breath brush my neck as he began to place tender kisses along my skin, each one leaving a soft warmth that made me shiver. My heartbeat quickened, but I couldn't bring myself to stop him. His lips lingered on my neck, leaving faint marks that only he could see.

"My queen… where to now?" he whispered, his voice low against my ear, sending a pleasant shiver through me as his arms tightened around me. His lips trailed to my earlobe, gently nibbling, his warm breath against my ear almost intoxicating.

"Ereh… stop," I managed to gasp, though my voice was barely a whisper. "Someone might see us…"

But my mind was already lost, floating in a hazy warmth as his kisses softened and moved along my cheeks, my body instinctively leaning back into him, surrendering to the feeling. His voice was a murmur against my ear, words brushing against my skin.

"You… you're so beautiful…" he whispered, each word melting into me. I felt vulnerable, but blissfully so, a mix of nervousness and longing. Part of me wanted to let him keep going, to lose ourselves here; yet another part of me—wanted to save this for later, somewhere cozy and private, just the two of us… shit I'm a pervert.

"We… we have something important to discuss… like… like where… ah… where to run…" I managed, catching my breath between the warmth of his kisses. Eren finally pulled away, leaving a trail of red marks along my neck, each one a reminder of his touch.

"I'll run wherever my Mikasa wants to," he murmured, his voice tender. Blushing, I repositioned myself to face him, my heart still fluttering. "Gosh… Eren…" I whispered, a soft smile breaking across my face. But before we could get lost in each other's gaze again, we noticed an elderly man standing a few yards away, observing us with a faint, amused smile.

Instantly, we both pulled back, our faces scarlet with embarrassment. "Eren…" I muttered, flustered, as I stood up. Eren followed, rubbing the back of his head with an awkward laugh.

"Sorry, sir… but this beautiful woman is my wife… you know how it gets, right?" he chuckled, his cheeks flushed. My heart skipped a beat at how casually he said it—wife! I glanced down at the emerald ring on my finger, then at the scarf lying in the dust nearby.

"Mister! There he is!" a young boy, Ramzi—the kid Eren and Levi had saved the day before—called out, tugging Jean by the sleeve, followed by Connie and Sasha. They rushed over, looking both relieved and irritated to have finally found us.

"Asshole… do you have any idea how long we've been looking for you?" Jean scolded, clearly exasperated.

Quickly, I bent down to retrieve my scarf, wrapping it around my neck to hide the marks Eren had left. Connie was panting as he spoke, "Man… you have no idea how long we've been searching."

"And you, Mikasa," Sasha joined in, equally exhausted, "if you were with him, you could've just brought him back!"

I exchanged a quick, shy glance with Eren before turning away, my cheeks flushing once more. "I… I only found him a couple of minutes ago. We were about to come back… right, Eren?"

Eren nodded, backing me up smoothly. Just then, the old man gently tugged at Eren's sleeve. "You all look exhausted," he said kindly. "Why don't you join us for dinner?"

Though we had dinner waiting back at the mansion, to my surprise, Eren agreed without a second thought. I raised an eyebrow, only for realization to dawn on me. Oh, darling… you're so clever. I smiled at him, and he returned the look, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
