Astral's Rise Part 73: Demolition Party

"Nevada it has been quiet. Did it work?" Hawaii asked as the nine of them were moving through the core of the hub they were scouring through.

"You mean by having two separate attention grabs in Astral and the forces? Yes, we just have to look out for any trying to move about." Nevada spoke as Utah and Minn raised their hand for them to stop.

"Wash, Indy, sync and take them out." Nevada turned behind them, the corridors were large enough to fit three wide as Oregon and Mississippi were watching the flank with Nevada.

"On my mark." Minn spoke softly to the other three. "Set." The four of them aimed their shots. "Mark." The four of them fired as the four Tizzle guardsmen dropped. Only for an Apparazza unit to pass by and see this. "Scramble four!" Minn spoke as Carolina turned the corner and fired a concussion grenade from her launcher.

Hawaii and Indy charged them and gunned the five Apparazza down as more Apparazza turned the corner. Minn clicked a button on her waist as a Minigun formed. Indy and Hawaii slid into cover as she let the finger hit the trigger, not letting go until the Apparazza stopped coming.

"Well, change of plans, stretch five." Nevada spoke, they were only seven hundred meters away. "Minn and Indy protect this spot, Hawaii, cling to this group and stay close to Carolina, Oregon, Mississippi. Hold the close end, Wash and Utah with me now!" Nevada started to run as the other two dashed after him.

After the three got out of earshot Minn spoke. "Wouldn't it be easier to fight our way out together?" She asked as Carolina tapped her on the ass.

"No, if you two hold here we all can get loose at the same time. Escaping the way we came at the same time." Carolina teased Minn as she stomped one foot in anger. Indy rolled his eyes at this, why is it always girls?

After the other four turned the corner more Apparazza and Tizzles came charging at them from the far corridor. Minn would open fire as they all ducked behind cover. Indy set his gun to a different tick and started to open fire. Hitting the Sacramentum forces behind cover as they were confused.

Hawaii heard the commotion as she stuck to the ceiling. Once a handful of Tizzles were under her to attack Minn and Indy, she dropped on them and opened fire with her smg's onto the unsuspecting crowd.

Carolina kept hearing the commotion as the hallways slowly became flooded with Sacramentum forces. She kept as many as possible at bay with her rifle. However there were too many of them as she backpedaled to Hawaii being back to back with her. As the Sacramentum came at them they were able to hold their own as the hallways became puddles of blood. This time they were vastly superior.

Oregon and Mississippi were chatting on their way to their zone. "Do you trust Astral?" Oregon asked her counterpart.

"I think so, he has done a lot of good for us and people on earth. He does like to keep secrets and that makes me worry about his true intentions, but I think for now its our best possibility of life." Mississippi answered as she pointed to an unsuspecting Apparazza. Killing it in one shot with her shotgun.

"I see, that makes a lot of sense. My question is why all of the secrets and shadow games, how did they come from nowhere and save us?" Oregon asked as a handful of Apparazza turned the corner as she dropped them with her rifle.

"He has reasons to hide his true self, how else would he be so powerful to ward off the Sacramentum like how he did on earth?" She spoke as the hallway filled up with more Apparazza. Both dropped the conversation as they had to focus on their battle in front of them. As they get swarmed they fall back to Hawaii and Carolina shouting. "They Better hurry up!"

Nevada looked at the core's power system. "Wash, you think we should just leave a detonator and explosives or rig it to blow by overloading?" He asked as Utah looked over his shoulder and flicked a lever.

"Sometimes its just this easy." Utah pointed to the core that was heating up. "The ventilation is cut now we run."

"What if they come down and turn the ventilation back on?" Nevada asked as Wash snapped the lever and unloaded his pistol into the console.

"There, by the time it goes boom, we should be in space." Wash started charging out the door as Utah and Nevada followed him. Once they got going they made it though to where the four girls were as they were battling through the elite of the Apparazza.

"Time to go!" Nevada gunned down one of the Apparazza as Hawaii clambered with one of the others and stabbed it in the throat as it fell on her. Utah and Washington gunned down the other two. The seven of them rallied together as they pushed to Indy and Minn as the two of them were surrounded by many dead bodies.

"Indy is hurt, get him out of here." Minn swung down her chaingun onto a skull of a Tizzle as she gunned down the ones coming back at them as Utah and Wash grabbed Indy and started heading forward as Oregon, Mississippi and Hawaii took the lead followed shortly by Utah, Wash and Indy. 

Minn took the flank as she kept her fingers to the minigun as Nevada and Carolina helped the back line. Once they got outside they saw the floor around them slowly expanding. "Flare for an evac ship!" Nevada shouted as Carolina fired a red flare upwards. They just had to hold out before the floor gave way.

"All forces back to the Everlast!" Astral gave the command as the Everlast lifted off of the ground narrowly to make liftoff easier. All of the Sacramentum forces started to scramble as sirens were going off

Two flakbirds came in with a carrier shuttle, the Dogpound boarded the shuttle as it raced back to the Everlast. The fighter jets all came back with none of them being shot down. And only losing a handful of flakbirds.

"All ground forces are accounted for general." One of the officers on the bridge spoke to Astral.

"Then get us clear of any blast zone. I know this ship can take it but I am not certain we will survive inside of here." Astral saw as the hub world was expanding around them. The heat from the core unstabilized the station as Astral laughed. "Use the lightspeed engines and get us to the other side of the peon planet."

The officers listened as all engines were good to go as they escaped full throttle. Just in time as the station combusted and went supernova, taking most of the Sacramentum hierarchy with it.
