Astral's Rise Part 45: Collapse

"Hampshire, lead York, Rhode, Nebraska and Illinois to the right, Support the kill lanes." Nevada would keep speaking as they were still under fire. The snipers only doubled their efforts. "Ohio, Penn and Tenn, set up for sniper support, spot out the targets for the others. The rest of you filter out in the buildings. If they want a battle we will give them one."

They slowly got into position as the Sacramentum creatures all came down the alley. To be gunned down wave after wave. Almost like their plan was to overwhelm with numbers. Nevada noticed this and the dead bodies. Not many of them were carrying heavy and strong weapons. The way they were dying meant something. 

"Everyone hold your fire for a minute." Nevada gave a command as everyone took a break and refreshed themselves with rations and water. Nevada watched carefully from a drone that Washington was piloting.

"Not good." Minn was watching the dead bodies morph together. Seeming like it was all one collective organism. Turning into a vehicle of sorts. A walker made from their flesh. "What in the abomination is that? FIRE THE NAPALM ROCKETS." She panicked as the thing came crawling forward. It would lunge at her and the front barricade as the rockets connect. 

Lurching backwards before slamming down with all of its force. Minn dived away as Hawaii would roll away from the creature, Oregon got partially crushed as Dakota and Michigan were beneath the goliath of a creature.

"What the fuck. Everyone, prepare molotovs for these guys, I will see if we have incendiary rounds available for us. It seems like that will keep it from becoming alive again." Nevada would speak as more of the creatures would form into different things.

"Since when have aliens like this existed?" Idaho would ask as the three get blasted from the rooftop from a mega plasma blast from one of the new creatures walking around. The only one left on the roof would be Nevada as he looked down, firing to keep his two teammates and friends from being swarmed.

Another creature formed as it burrowed into the building that Florida, Alabama, Georgia and Missouri were in. The building swelled up before it exploded outward from the pressure, the shrapnel taking down the south building where Carolina and her team was. It exploded from the charges placed at the bottom of the building. Carolina was the only one quick enough to get to the outside and slide onto the slimy mega creature.

She was aboard it as it trampled the building Mississippi, Alaska, Arkansas and Kansas were in. Mississippi fell to the ground as the rest were feasted upon. Carolina made it to the core chucking several grenades into it as she slid down the outside with a knife. Picking up her friend before they were crushed as it fell.

A giant plasma beam tore down the sniper building hosting; Utah, Montana, Iowa, Ohio, Tenn and Penn. In the rubble falling it crushed most of the supply line people such as Maryland, Kentucky and Arizona. Indy fought off a large amount of the aliens as he was pinned back. He was separated from Oklahoma and New Mexico as the aliens fled again. 

Another large beam struck down Oklahoma and New Mexico, the heat almost causing Indy to instantly dehydrate as he saw Utah from the rubble. Being able to loosen him free and bring him to the other position.

The last building standing blew up as jets flew by with plasma bombs. The explosions killing; Hampshire, York, Rhode, Nebraska and Illinois. Nevada saw all of this happening, the Sacramentum just wanted to play with their food for a bit before pouncing on the kill.

"Minn, help me." Oregon would be pleading from the pile. Her legs were crushed. Hawaii and her looked to Oregon.

"We are going to get you out of here safely. Hawaii, can you pull her out?" Hawaii would nod as Minn went over and would lift up the flesh from the creature. It was cold as there was enough room to pull Oregon out.

"I'm bringing her to the backup point, cover me!" Hawaii would have Oregon hoisted up on her shoulders as she would start to sprint as fast as she could. One of the lizards started to chase them as Minn grabbed its tail. Yanking it back before stabbing it five times across its body. Letting it flop around as it bled to death slowly.

"Nevada we need to fall back, we are losing too many members." Carolina would speak as she grabbed Mississippi who was hurt badly, running to the backup point. Nevada would look at the hit markers and see that only nine of them were alive. Washington needed to be saved and he would make it happen.

"Everyone meet up at point four. Set traps, mines and bombs to try and disrupt the enemies as much as possible. While we are at it. Get human evacuations underway to bunkers!" Nevada scaled down the building. 

Carolina, Mississippi, Indy and Utah ran into each other at checkpoint three. They restocked and rigged it to blow on the first contact of cold blooded contact on the thermal sensor on the door handle.

Minn was deadly accurate, wielding two rifles covering for her squad as the alien's lessen as they made it to the fourth checkpoint as they sat down to relax for a second. This is a shitshow with no way out, just praying they survive.

He was determined to get him and Washington out of there. Popping smoke down around Washington he would grab him. With one broken leg it would be rough moving quickly. "We are leaving. Drop some explosives to detonate." Nevada would hoist Washington to his back and start sprinting. 

Wash firing a handful of rounds. Taking out the immediate threats as the city block was leveled by the explosives left behind. Earth was slowing down. And it would not last at any rate. Its defense has fallen pending any outside help.

Nevada and Wash would arrive at point to see Carolina with Mississippi, Minnesota and Hawaii with Oregon, Indy with Utah. "Nine of us left with five of us still in fighting shape." Hawaii would scoff. "And we were the best, huh."
