Consequence

 It has been a few months since the incident with Mina and I've been taking on solo missions more frequently. Josento and Arrion are the only ones who will talk to me in the barracks. The trading post has been bringing in a steady amount of funds. Saekeya summoned me for an extra lesson which meant I was being sent on an assassination mission. Walking into his classroom he gave me a worried glance while looking me over. Disheveled hair and short blonde stubble on my chin while I was wearing the same clothes I've had on for the past week. He said, "Rokuza, I know you've been having a rough time but at least take care of your outward appearance.".

 I said softly, "I'll fix it before I head out. What's today's quota?".

 He answered, "There is a group of bandits attacking convoys near the Unon border. There are estimated to be at least thirty. We need you to get rid of them and if possible find where they have taken the stolen goods.".

 I said, "Understood, I'll leave as soon as possible.".

 Going back to the barracks I ran into Fumiko who only gave me a quick glance and walked the opposite direction. Walking into my room I noticed Iseldis sitting at my desk. I asked her, "Do you need something?".

 She quickly answered, "I am checking up on you. You're the only member of the Shadow Squad who doesn't participate in team missions anymore.".

 I said coldly, "I don't have the right to act as their leader anymore. I lost their trust and betrayed Mina.".

 Iseldis stood and said, "What happened was partially my fault so if you need anything or want to join the missions again let me know.".

 She walked out leaving me to my own devices. Making sure she was fully gone I donned my armor and helmet. Grabbing my sword I ran full speed towards the edge of the capital noticing at least a hundred wanted posters on the walls. The man was wearing all black with a helmet that only showed his eyes. Seems like I'm getting famous. Making it to the border I found a small wooded area next to the road. I noticed movement in the bushes across from me. I'm guessing another convoy might be coming through. Waiting for the bandits to make their move I heard the sound of wagons getting closer. 

 They came into view and to my surprise the leader was Elinor Seon, the assault captain of the Unon kingdom. This might be a little tricky. I don't know her ability or rank. If she is leading this convoy then there's probably a few strong enemies among the bandits. The wagons stopped close to where I was and Elinor started looking around for any suspicious movement. She looked straight at me and smirked. The bandits jumped out of the bushes and blocked the wagon's path. The largest bandit stepped forward and laughed. He bellowed, "Well look who it is, the captain of the Unon kingdoms assault squad. Remember me.".

    She said, "Why would I remember a filthy criminal?".

    The large bandit stopped grinning and got into a fighting stance. I came out of the woods and stood beside Elinor. I said, "Mind if I join in on the fun.".

    She nodded and pulled out her claymore. I have to keep my ability hidden for now. Unsheathing my sword I vibrated my sword to create a melodic sound. The big bandit looked frightened saying, "I've heard of you. A man wearing all black with fiery red eyes peering from the darkness. Slaying his enemies while a beautiful melody plays. They started to call you The Lullaby. I'm the Mad Dog, nice to meet you.".

    I said, "The Lullaby huh, not bad. Now that you've heard it you must die I suppose.".

    I took my stance and beckoned them to come. One after one they rushed in. There was no technique behind their swings which made parrying and killing them extremely easy. The small fry were dealt with quickly as Mad Dog and one other stood back. Elinor stepped up beside me and said, "I'll take Mad Dog and you take the little one.".

    I looked at the smaller one and gave them a signal to follow me into the woods. We stopped in a clearing out of Elinor's sight. Using my speed I instantly took them down and removed their hood. A young boy who looked similar to Mad Dog was hiding underneath. Breaking both his arms I asked, "Where is your hideout? Where did you take the goods?".

    He screamed, "There's a cave five miles into the woods on the other side. Everything we took is there.".

    I proceeded to snap his neck and carry his body back towards where Elinor was. Emerging from the forest Mad Dog was the first to notice. Noticing the body in my arms he screamed in rage losing his composure and reason. Swinging wildly at Elinor she couldn't get an attack in trying to dodge every swing. I killed him instantly, appearing behind the Mad Dog. Elinor realized who I was and raised her sword at me and said, "You're a wanted man Rokuza. I've fought your father enough times to recognize his ability anywhere. Come quietly.".

   I stopped time and ran towards the cave quickly clearing the remaining four bandits before writing a quick letter and returning to the academy leaving the letter on Saekeya's desk. Grabbing everything important I fled to the outposts hidden bunker. It's been a couple days since leaving the letter. I'm hoping someone drops by to inform me of what's happening in the kingdom. Hearing the secret door open I hid in the corner waiting for someone to enter. The Shadow Squad and Saekeya entered the room. I sat at the table in the middle of the room and said, "I didn't think Elinor would recognize me by only seeing my ability.".

   Saekeya said, "We might have to send you to a different kingdom. Your father is searching the whole of Foract for you.".

   Josento chimed in, "Elinor went straight to the King after recognizing you. The King issued an arrest warrant for you.".

   Arrion said, "What happened? You've never been this sloppy. You clear entire rooms in less than a second. I know you regret what happened with Mina but you could have jeopardized the entire squad.".

   I answered, "She knew I was there before the attack happened. I used my ability to stop a berserker and that was my screw up. I'll go to the Ventess kingdom on the other side of the continent for a couple years.".

   The girls didn't say anything. Everyone but Mina left the room. She said, "We won't see each other for a while. I don't forgive you for what you've done but I might in two years. Iseldis might be Queen before you get back. We're hoping your father follows you after we wait three months before telling him we found a hint where you went. Come back alive, Rokuza.".
