Pool of Blood

In the middle of the night, Chiara suddenly woke up panting. Tears trickled down her eyes as she grabbed the fabric of her pajama on the chest part.

She can't breathe! Her other hand touched her neck and she tried to calm herself down. Remembering the breathing exercise that her past life grandfather taught her.

'Ichi, ni, san, breathe...breathe...breathe'

But....

But she still....

Can't breathe....

"Uuaehugk!" She suddenly coughed blood.

Her eyes widened in surprise.

'I thought I won't experience any disease again because of Elixyvette? So why am I coughing blood? Why?'

As Chiara tried to move she felt a pang in her stomach. Sweat flowed down on her forehead and she vomited blood again.

She stepped out of the bed and laughed like a maniac.

"May it be people, gods or demons they are all liars."

Using the blood in her little palm she draw something on the floor. An oracle circle? Maybe not.

Since it's Sydimel's soul inside Chiara's body, all of the things that Sydimel can do, Chiara can also pull it off.

"Any demon that can hear me, I summon you. Right now."

Chiara waited almost for nothing but the next thing she knew a black light appeared on the circle.

"Who dared to call me in this time?" A man with a very gorgeous black hair with purple eyes appeared right in front of her eyes.

"Oh?" He said. "A kid? You must have a royal blood right?" He saw the bloodstains in Chiara's pajamas and in her lips down her chin. "Kid, what happened?"

"I suddenly coughed up blood in the middle of the night."

He sensed an angelic power inside of her but he saw that her soul has the blood of a demon.

"This is insane. How can our kin get the protection of the holy goddess Elixyvette? Tell me did she healed you once and said you won't experience any disease again?"

Chiara bravely looked directly into his eyes. "Yes." She said.

The demon sat on the floor and caressed Chiara's hair. "Kid, our soul can't accept such thing as her protection. You could've called for me that day. No, you should've."

Chiara looked down and replied:

"I didn't. The priest did."

"You coughed blood because Elixyvette's protection tried to touch your soul. Let me purify you." He said.

Chiara just stared at him as he touched the blood on Chiara's hands. He drew blood from his fingers too and made Chiara drink it.

"Why would I drink that?" She said.

"Tss. Just drink it kid. It can remove her protection from you and, you won't need to drink or eat poisonous things from now on in order to be immuned. Because once you drink this, your body can resist all kinds of poisons."

Chiara drunk it and she suddenly felt a lot of electricity on her body.

"That's how you purify a soul. Even though you can't really call it purification if it's from our race."

He placed Chiara on the bed and said:

"By the way, my name is ......., be sure to remember it and summon me tomorrow night so I can check up on you." Those are the last words Chiara heard and she passed out.

'Hmm kid, I will clean up your mess better thank me tomorrow you little demon.'

Meanwhile in the training grounds of Voyenachal'nik the mercenaries are dressed differently now. They are dressed like a normal people and wears uniform in the morning. They have been training really really hard to not disappoint Chiara and to fulfill the promise that they had made.

As of now, they got the trust of every employees in the palace. They're reporting every entrance and exit on the palace to Chiara through a white crow. They are training up until midnight.

"Hiya!"

"Haah!"

One of them stopped and sat on the ground and said:

"I'm worried about the Princess. She hasn't been replying to us these days."

Silas, their leader replied:

"Instead of worrying about the Princess why don't you worry about yourself first? She's a Severina she can handle everything, maybe she's just too busy studying."

Cassius sighed in relief. "Maybe you're right captain."

"That's all for tonight we will continue this tomorrow."

"Sir, yes, sir!"

The demon who Chiara summoned is very confused when he touched her soul. Because she has a lot of trust issues, hatred, guilt, confusion and bloodlust in it. It's like a powerful demon has been betrayed or something.
