Odin's Guidance
"Yes, I think what I saw is probably the top of a tunnel, or perhaps a gap in the ground," Fairwind said, gesturing with his hands, very focused.
Odin was lost in thought, pacing the room for a moment.
After a while, he said, "You have done a great job. The next seven days are your rest period, and you are not to participate in any battles. After seven days, you will receive new assignments."
"Yes," Forseti replied.
"Well, you may go back now," Odin nodded.
The three of them turned to leave, but Odin suddenly thought of something. "Forseti," he called.
"Tomorrow night, come see me again," Odin said with a smile.
Meanwhile, not long after Forseti and the others escaped through the Rainbow Bridge, Muthurs, Ulic, the King of Trolls, and others arrived at the scorch marks left by the Rainbow Bridge, arguing.
"They fled back, and Asgard must have discovered the tunnel's secret now," said a tall demon with wings. "This war must end early, at least we must return to hell as soon as possible. The demons are uncomfortable here."
Muthurs said, "There were only about ten of them. They were an ordinary team, just to rescue the prince of the Vanir. It has nothing to do with the tunnel."
"Ordinary Squad?" said a frost giant. "An ordinary squad can't survive a meteor attack. If Asgard's ordinary squads are this capable, we might as well bow down and be their servants. What battle is there to fight?"
"Muthurs, you should understand that all our advantages in this war come from the space passage hidden at the end of the tunnel. If Asgard discovers the tunnel's secret, we might lose our way home at any time."
After a pause, the frost giant continued, "Unlike your trolls, neither demons nor our frost giants can fully adapt to Vanaheim's environment. If Asgard blocks our way home, we are doomed."
Ulic, the king of trolls, looked grim. "We have a contract, and you must help the trolls occupy Vanaheim."
The winged demon said, "We didn't promise to help you achieve your goal. Besides, in the current situation, even if you can't occupy the entire Vanaheim, taking half of it isn't a problem."
Ulic was silent for a moment. "If you retreat now, the trolls will refuse to help you in the future."
The winged demon flapped his wings, his tone dissatisfied. "You are breaking the contract. Even in hell, breaking a contract is a great sin."
The frost giant also said, "Ulic, the consequences of your actions are something none of us are willing to bear."
Ulic snorted and was about to speak, but Muthurs interrupted, "Of course the trolls will not break the contract. But now is the critical period of the war, and if you evacuate like this, as allies, it is somewhat irresponsible."
The frost giant said, "We don't want to withdraw so early, but if the space passage is destroyed by Asgard, we can't afford that price."
The atmosphere grew tense.
Muthurs said, "How about this: let's organize one last large-scale attack to try to destroy an Asgardian camp. Then you can withdraw. How about that?"
The demon and the frost giant exchanged glances. The demon said, "I will ask Lord Zatanos."
The frost giant said, "I will also ask your Majesty Laufey."
The respite during the war was hard-won. Upon reaching the Odin camp, Forseti slept soundly for the first time, then spent a quiet day.
Though Odin had given their team a break, Forseti ensured the members maintained basic drills.
After surviving the meteorite, Forseti had established great prestige within the team. All the members were convinced of his leadership and followed his orders obediently, completing their daily drills.
However, this prestige had its downsides. For instance, Amora's attention to Forseti had noticeably increased.
Previously, she occasionally flirted with Forseti, but now her determination was evident.
Forseti felt her interest stemmed not from love but curiosity, which was unsettling.
"Captain, how did you block the meteorite yesterday?" Amora teased Forseti during dinner.
Most of the male members envied Amora's attention, their focus shifting between Forseti and Amora.
Forseti silently nibbled on a leg of lamb. "Do you want to know?"
"Yes," Amora nodded, her lips pursed.
Though she was pretending, her beauty made her actions charming and attractive.
Skurge, distracted, accidentally bit his mouth. "Ouch!"
Forseti was silent for a moment, then pointed to the roast lamb in front of him. "Well, Amora, if you can finish half of this roast lamb by yourself, I'll tell you. By the way, no utensils allowed. You must eat with your hands. I enjoy seeing girls with oily mouths."
Everyone laughed.
Amora pouted, "Captain, you are so boring."
After dinner, the group dispersed. Forseti went to the command post to meet Odin.
"Lord Odin," Forseti greeted.
Odin turned. "You're here, Forseti. Come, walk with me."
As they walked out of the command post, Odin asked, "Forseti, your divine power is flame?"
"Yes," Forseti nodded.
"Let me see."
Forseti raised his hand, a flame igniting in his palm.
Odin observed it and nodded. "Pure and fiery flame. Yours is very good."
Divine power was generally categorized into three tiers. Each user had unique attributes, initial strength, improvement processes, and potential.
For instance, though both had second-tier divine powers, Tyr was stronger than the Earth Demon, even in a hellish environment.
Odin continued, "Forseti, how much do you know about divine power, especially your own?"
Forseti replied, "Very little. I'm just beginning to explore it."
Odin nodded. "Every divine power has such a stage. Though I am not a flame divine force user, my sky divine force is somewhat related to elemental powers. I should be able to share some experiences with you."
