Chapter 11

When Jhin opened the door, he saw a delivery man with a huge package behind him.

The delivery man looked at him and said, "Good morning sir, Is Mr. Jhin Villan at home?"

"You're speaking to him." Jhin replied.

The delivery man sighed in relief before handing Jhin a contract, "Sir, Your package has arrived and if you please sign, here, here, and here, then I'll be on my way."

Jhin simply signed everything and the delivery man thanked him before leaving.

"Now then," Jhin looked at the huge package in front of him."Let's set this up."

Jhin carried it inside and found out that it was heavier than it looked but not to the point where he couldn't carry it.

He sneakily carried it towards the stairs and while doing so, he heard his mom ask from the kitchen, "Son, who was it?"

"Just something I ordered online." Jhin replied while continuing to carry the large package.

"You ordered something online?" Mia's voice questioned him from the kitchen as well.

"Yeah!" Jhin only answered briefly while carefully carrying the box package that reached all the way to his chest.

After managing to get it upstairs, he didn't waste time and headed towards his little sister's room.

Upon entering Mia's room, he then took a moment to survey the surroundings and it was as one would expect from a teenage girl in high-school.

The room had a very feminine design along with a few plushies on her bed and overall, her room was very neat and clean.

Jhin then looked for the ideal spot to set the console up and that was when he noticed that a space could be made from the corner of the room so long as he moved the study table a bit.

He didn't waste any time and opened the package.

Inside it was an easy to assemble part that resembled a grand chair. It came with the tools and bolts necessary to set it up along with a free URVR game which was naturally [Ascended Order].

Jhin spent the next twenty minutes to properly set it up along with the wire cables neatly placed and hidden behind and stuck to a socket.

So now, beside Mia's study table, was a large capsule-like chair that had the primary colour of white with pink accents.

The entire console itself looked like a hatch on a spaceship or a ride in an arcade.

On top of the seat was a helmet which was naturally the main console itself while everything else was additional features such as smooth air conditioning and heart monitor to show the user's heart condition.

This console right here was the latest version of the [Ultra Reality Diving Gear] manufactured by Futu Technologies.

Not only would it allow 100% sensual immersion but also provide safety protocols for the user.

It was a console that only wealthy players could afford.

And this cost him about 250,000 USD with taxes.

"But it's worth it." Jhin said with a smile.

After appreciating the new console for a moment, he then hastily gathered the plastic packaging scattered across Mia's room.

And just as he was about to leave, the door suddenly opened.

Cluck.

Mia entered the room with her eyes stuck on her phone.

"Jhin, how many times do I have to say that you shouldn't enter my..."

She couldn't finish her sentence as she looked at the scene in front of her. Her brother was there, carrying plastic and foam packages with the scent of "New gadget smell" permeated in the air.

Her eyes then trailed towards an unfamiliar furniture that was placed beside her study table.

She was so shocked that she became speechless.

Jhin on the other hand, walked towards her with a goofy grin.

"Advance happy birthday sis, do you like it?"

"...I... a... ho... wha... ...."

She couldn't form any coherent sentence. She was simply too shocked about what she was seeing. She had so many things to say but she couldn't do so as she wanted to say them all at once resulting in her mouth mildly gaping.

"..."

Isn't this the latest diving gear from Futu Technologies, the leading technology company which is famed for creating revolutionary devices?

Not only that, but seeing the different color scheme of the gear, Mia could tell that this one was personalized which meant that it would cost more than it's stock price which is already pricey enough on its own.

"Well?"

Only when she heard her brother's voice again did she finally manage to regain some of her bearings and close her small gaping mouth.

"Like what you see?" Jhin asked teasingly while grinning from ear to ear.

Mia took a deep breath and calmed herself before shakily asking, "T-this... this is for me...?"

She looked at her brother's face that was affirming her thoughts.

"Yep."

"O-okay..."

Okay. Mia whispered to herself once more and looked at Jhin.

"Before anything else... could you tell me how you got this for me?" Her brows furrowed as she said, "You didn't gamble nor ask for a loan right? Jhin would never do something stupid like that... right?"

Jhin opened his mouth to answer but his sister cut him off.

"Or perhaps you got this money from doing something illegal?" Mia looked at him worriedly and said, "If so, then please return this... Jhin. No matter how much I want to play, it's not worth it if it ruins you and your future."

"Relax." Jhin replied.

"I'll tell you so calm down already, okay? And it's not what you're thinking."

Mia still looked at him with a concerned expression but still nodded her head and waited for him to explain.

.

"So... what you're telling me, is that by making money in game, you got a whopping 400,000 USD by trading that money to a rich person in reality?"

"Yeah." Jhin nodded.

"..."

Mia narrowed her eyes at him.

"Are you lying to me?"

"I don't know?" Jhin replied with a smirk, "Am I?"

Mia pouted for a second before taking a deep breath and looked at her brother with a serious face.

"You're not joking?"

Jhin sighed with a small smile, "What, you really can't trust me?"

"No, Jhin. It's not that I don't trust you. It's just that I find it hard to believe."

Mia added, "The game was just released three days ago and you're telling me that you managed to collect 100 silvers within that small amount of time?"

She continued with a thoughtful expression, "That's really hard to believe considering that the only way for average players to earn money is through quest completion and monster drops."

"And so far, there hasn't been any quest givers that could reward iron let alone coppers. While monster drops would be even harder since the leading guilds are monopolizing the monster spawns outside the Beginner Village."

Mia then looked at Jhin and said, "In conclusion, It would be hard to earn money according to the current stage of the game."

"Even if brother were lucky enough to join one of those world leading guilds, it's still hard to believe that you'll earn that much especially when the game has just been released for three days. Even if we considered the 3:1 time difference, then that would mean only six days passed inside the game."

Jhin quietly listened to his sister's analyzation and couldn't help but find himself smiling after realizing that her sister truly fell in love with this game.

So much so that she had even done this much research.

Mia slightly frowned when she saw her brother looking at her with an amused smile.

"Well, Jhin? Care to explain to me how?"

Jhin released a sigh, "It's simple really."

He then looked at her in the eyes and said in a serious tone, "I'll tell you but you promise you won't tell anyone else, alright?"

Mia looked at him as well and realized that the latter was being serious.

After a moment, she nodded and agreed.

Jhin smiled, "Alright well..."

He then proceeded to tell her the achievement rewards as well as the conditions they required. He also suggested her to take the long adventure in the tutorial area.

After thirty minutes or so, Mia was looking at her brother with an extremely surprised face.

She wondered how her brother got this kind of information while the rest of the player base were still ignorant of this aspect of the game.

She decided to ask her brother but the latter told her that it was a secret.

Mia no longer continued to pry after that and simply told herself to be satisfied with the information and advice she received for him.

More so, after all the explanation, she gave her brother a big and tight hug.

She was extremely happy and grateful for her big brother that bought her this grand gift with his first paycheck.

Through this, Mia knew how much her brother loved her just as much as when she pitched in to get him his gift.

The prices paled in comparison but the two gifts shared the same sentimental value for the two siblings.

Standing in the forest located in the outskirts of the Beginner Village, Jhin was leaning on one of the trees, hidden underneath the shade of its leaves as he watched a little girl wearing armor and a spear while fighting a [Man-eating Frog].

The little girl had little beads of sweat falling from her cheeks but she no longer had any troubles against fighting these kind of monsters as her opponent only had 1/4th of HP left.

Ever since their first hunt, Lily and Jhin had been hunting [Man-Eating Frogs] and although Lily had been killing most of the monsters while Jhin simply supervises, the latter still received some experience points since the exp is shared throughout the party.

Plus, considering that the monsters they hunt were higher than them in levels, they are given bonus experience points.

Which is why, a week has only passed in game and yet, Lily was already level 3 while the leading players are only a little over level 2.

As for Jhin, he was also level 2.

Jhin stared at his character window in satisfaction while recounting the next steps he would take.

He first planned on reaching level 3 before speed running the first dungeon and from there, he would rush all the way to level 10.

After grinding within the dungeon, he will then start exploring on the outer section of the outskirts wherein he will encounter monsters from level 15 to 30.

Then after rushing his level to 13, other areas will unlock such as [Hobgoblin Village], [Dark Forestry], [Underground Catacombs], and more.

Jhin plans to hoard all the achievements and quests within those areas. Unfortunately, Jhin couldn't remember the precise location of the hidden locations where he could get rare quests or weapons.

He estimated that all this would take him about one month no- one month and a half if he considers the time he'll spend to locate those hidden locations.

By then, he'll reach level 15 which will allow him to unlock the second dungeon.

'Okay... everything's going well so far.'

As Jhin thought so, he felt the ground shake as the [Man-eating Frog Lv. 8] dropped lifelessly to the floor.

Ding! Ding!

[Party Member: [Lily] has defeated [Man-eating Frog] Lv. 8, you have gained 81 experience points.]

"Mister, I'm level 4 now!"

The little girl, Lily, waved at him with a bright expression as she ran towards his direction.

"Really? That's good."

She arrived in front of Jhin a few seconds later and Jhin saw that she was in a perfectly fine state.

Although she had fast pace breaths, she didn't seem exhausted at all. Her hunting time also went down from two minutes to one minute and twenty seconds.

"Good job." Zed praised with a smile before ruffling her small head.

"Hehe...." Lily's face loosened as a smile appeared on her face.

She blinked and then grasped Jhin's hand from her head before shyly speaking, "M-mister... I hunted fifteen [Man-Eating Frog] so..."

Her cute round eyes glistened as she looked at him pleadingly.

Jhin didn't need mind reading skills to know what she wanted to say.

He sighed with a smile, "Alright, according to the deal, you will get three rewards."

The little girl's face brightened up upon hearing so.

Jhin chuckled and added, "Since you did very well, I'll add in another reward."

"Gasp! Really?" Lily asked excitedly.

"Yep." Jhin nodded. "But before we go back to the village, I need to do something quick so can you wait here for half an hour?"

"Un!" Lily cutely nodded.

Jhin smiled, "Very well, I'll be right back."

And as Jhin said that, his figure suddenly disappeared, making Lily very surprised.

Just as she was wondering where he went, she then heard a series of ringing notification in her head.

Ding! Ding!

[Party Member: [Hoarder] has defeated [Man-Eating Frog] Lv. 9, you have gained 89 experience points.]

And a few seconds later,

Ding! Ding!

[Party Member: [Hoarder] has defeated [Man-Eating Frog] Lv. 7, you have gained 79 experience points.]

The ringing continued all the way until her EXP progression reached 76%.

The little girl was very surprised by how fast Jhin defeated those monsters and soon, a level up notification appeared in front of her.

Her face was filled with wonder and amazement before dismissing it and continuing to wait for Jhin to return.

And exactly thirty minutes later, Jhin appeared in front of her.

Lily greeted him with a smile. "Mister! You're very amazing! I reached level 5 just by sitting here!"

"Right?" Jhin responded with a boastful smile, "I'm amazing aren't I?"

"Mhm!" Lily nodded enthusiastically.

Since she had been hunting those monsters, she knew precisely how tough it is to defeat them and yet, Mister only took thirty minutes to kill over 20 of them.

Mister is really strong and amazing, she thought.

"Let's go." Jhin said.

Lily nodded cutely and followed after him.

Jhin put his distributable attribute points to 1 in Strength and 1 Agility. (A/N: Remember, each level up gives +2 points to all attributes +2 Distributable skill points and +1 Distributable attribute point.)

Then, he automatically added his skill points to [Decay] making it Level 1: (11/20).

(A/N: In case you guys are wondering why his stats are so high is because of the rare grade equipment he's wearing along with the 20% additional boost to all stats which he gets from his [Adventurer's Will] title.

That is the reason why he has a ">" boost in his attributes.)

She also poured her skill points on her fireball.

(A/N: The same applies to Lily as she is also wearing rare grade equipment.)

Jhin and Lily are incredibly overpowered compared to the other players in their level that normally has 10-18 in all attribute stats.
