As We Fall: Please Don't Leave Me or Let Go of My Shaking Hand

When Bai Huali's older sister decided to jump off a cliff in order to join her dead husband due to the pressure of being a new sect leader, Bai Huali finds herself full and busy with the child her sister left behind for her to take care of. With no time to mourn or grieve for her family's tragedy and her sister's death, Bai Huali finds herself becoming the new sect leader and drowning herself in immense office reports and meetings. However, becoming a sect leader comes with a price as Bai Huali had to conceal her gender and take on the role of a male. With family members gone, a clan exterminated, and a sect with only a maximum of five people, can Bai Huali bring prosperity back to the merpeople? Follow Bai Huali as she has to adapt to living on two legs daily, sleeping in the waters with a tail, and take care of a non-stop wailing baby. "Sect Leader Bai, I see that you have your hands currently preoccupied, may I assist you?" the beaming smile of the other leader had Bai Huali itching to smack it off. Knowing that what she did would not deter the man, Bai Huali simply waved him off and told him to help with the reports. Caught off-guard, Bai Huali blinked before feeling something brush past her lips. "Did you just...?" The other sect leader leaned back and said nothing as he smiled brightly and headed to her office to work on the paperwork leaving Bai Huali standing there. "Jiujiu!" A quiet voice called out making her look down to the owner's voice. "Why is your face so red?" Bai Huali only looked away as to not show her nephew her current appearance. *I do not own the cover picture and do not know the owner of the picture to give credit to. You're the Only One I Have Left, Please Don't Leave Me Too

As the wind gently blew, two figures stood across from each other. One figure dressed in black had her robes appeared even darker with the blood spilt on it was facing the figure in front of her with her back near the edge of a cliff. The second figure was dressed in pale blue robes as she knelt down towards the figure with her back towards the cliff.

"I beg you", the kneeling figure started, "You're the only one I have left Jiejie. If you leave me, who else will I have left?! I don't want you to leave! Please don't leave me all alone!"

The younger sister dressed in pale blue robes started crying as tears spilt down her cheeks. People wouldn't correct you even if you had said that she was outright wailing.

The older sister dressed in black robes looked sadly at her younger sister. She looked up towards the sky and thought to herself that heaven wasn't fair. Had their family not suffer enough? Her husband was gone leaving her to defend herself all alone against greedy vipers and rats.

She couldn't do that by herself. The older sister's shoulder shook. She was still too weak for that. Now, as she saw herself. The older sister regretted not joining in her father and mother's training sessions that she took for granted.

"Ah'Yi," the older sister gently smiled at her younger sister as she called out to her. She was a selfish older sister. This, she knew well and clear. "I leave Little Hua'er in your care."

The younger sister hearing this cried louder as if she knew what was coming and didn't want to believe it. Seeing her younger sister like this made the older sister's heartbreak and she also sobbed too.

"Little Hua'er is in your bed chambers as I've instructed Feng Mian to do. Ah'Yi, I hope you can forgive your selfish sister for wanting to join your brother-in-law so early ahead. I-I... I can't live without Ling-gege, Ah'Yi! Do you know how painful it is for me?!"

The older sister began to wipe her eyes ferociously as she shouted out her grievances.

"Every single day, every single da*n day! I w-wake up and h-have to g-greet those types of people! I-I don't have my o-own f-free will and Hua'er is always taken away from me and to who knows where!"

The older sister's eyes look more vicious as she stared straight into her younger sister's eyes.

"I feel trapped Ah'Yi! I was drowning and no one could pull me up!"

With that one final sentence, the older sister turned her back on the younger sister and jumped down, ignoring the younger sister's shouts for her to come back.

"JIEJIE! JIEJIE! Please don't leave me!" The younger sister knelt and began to bang her hands against the barrier. "Jiejie! Jiejie! Jiejie!"

The younger sister knelt and kept banging on the barrier, hoping that someone would come and save her older sister and free her. However, as time went on, dawn slowly turned into night, and night into the morning as the cycle repeated itself.
