As Silent As A Mouse

I am being hunted. Well, not me exactly. Someone wants to get their hands on the genius behind A.M.K Pharmaceuticals. They just don't know it's me. I have discovered a way to negate anyone's scent, shifter or human. You would think it wouldn't be that big of a deal... deodorants promise the same thing, but my product is nothing like that. My product turns its wearers invisible to shifters. No, not like that. But shifters need scent more than almost anything else to identify and find a person. Without scent, they can't track down their prey, or smell an enemy coming up from behind. I had originally created it so my adopted father and I could avoid the shifter community. No one was supposed to know about it. Until a little birdy said something they shouldn't have to the wrong person. Now the humans are after me and the shifters want me dead. But that's fine. That wasn't the only thing I came up with. And if I am as silent as a mouse, no one will see me coming until it is too late. This will be a RH novel, the FMC will not have to choose. Everyone Leaves

74.

I slowly woke up, still enjoying the heat coming from the pad I was lying on top of. The feeling of fingers traveling up and down my spine left me with goosebumps, but I was too happy and content to want to move.

Burrowing deeper into the warmth, I could feel the bed under me starting to vibrate.

"I can't figure out if she is cuter as a mouse or as a human. Either way, I could wake up like this every morning and be perfectly content," murmured a low voice as a strand of my hair was pushed back. The nimble fingers pinned it back behind my ear before cradling my cheek in his massive hand.

"I think she is slowly waking up," muttered a different voice from behind me. "I was getting worried."

"Same," grunted the mattress, "I was just about to call one of our doctors."

Doctors?

Fingers?

Oh shit.
