I stood there in a daze, looking at the wolf in front of me. He stood there, his head held high and his muscles bunching as if he wanted to dart forward and attack.
But he couldn't.
He shifted his weight just slightly to accommodate the missing limb, and I heard him growl low, frustrated at the fact that it was gone.
Alpha Bane was, without a doubt, the most impressive wolf I had ever seen, and my heart broke at the fact he was missing a limb.
"When I get back to my lab, I'll fix that," I promised, stretching my hand out to bet the majestic creature.
Travis quickly pulled my arm back, wrapping me in his own before looking at the wolf. "I know what you are thinking, Trouble," he murmured low into my ear. "But right now, those bars are only for decoration."
Letting out a long sigh, I was startled when Travis' radio went off with a loud crackle.
