The blood gushed out of the throat and smeared around her like a pool. It spilled around her hands and to her arms and splattered around her body. Something died in her after Alriah left. She only heard a few words in her head.
Her eyes went dark and unfocused. ‘Kill! Kill, kill them all none should survive!’
Alriah moved away from the body underneath her. She wanted to spit on the pathetic-looking corpse but instead, she untied the belt from his hips and took the sword.
The sword was long with a golden hilt shine. The sword clanged to the floor from her hand. She picked it up again and dragged it by her side. She walked in a trance. The cell door opened with a slight push. They did not think it was necessary to lock the door with the Lord inside.
Rosa did not turn around to check the corpse her body moved towards the long pathway. Darkness covered her surroundings at an interval as the light from the torches did not reach the whole area.
