Hi, my name is Tasha. Mina's ex-girlfriend. I have decided to keep this journal in case something happens to me. I hope this can be used as evidence against that freak Nanaka, because frankly, if anything bad happened to me, that would be because of her.
I met Mina in the first year of high school and everything was going well. It was love at first sight and I knew I had to have her. The biggest hurdle at the start was that I wasn't even sure that she was interested in girls, and after observing her for a while in the early period of the first semester, I knew for certain - she wasn't interested in girls.
If anything, she was actually into some low-life scum boy, who ended up hurting her. I mean like physically. He really was a scum.
But I am Tasha. I make the impossible possible. I wasn't gonna just give up on Mina like that. She was a popular girl who was always friendly with everyone, except with that one boy (the vile scum), which is how I figured she must like him (it's okay, Mina. Everyone makes mistakes. I still love you).
It wasn't too hard to set up for our first date, although it had to be done involving other people too. I had to arrange for a group meet-up because I was concerned Mina might find it a little awkward if I proposed we go somewhere just on our own. But it was okay because I had my loyal sidekick - Mara, to come and help me out. We've been friends since middle school and she always supported me in my quest to find true love. Shame it never worked for her because I would have helped in any way if I could, but it really wasn't my fault that she was pretty much asexual with no romantic interest in anyone, be it boys or girls. Maybe someday she will grow up and learn…
When I got to the meeting place though, my mood was immediately ruined when I saw that unwanted guest, Nanaka, a horrible terrible witch who later bewitched my Mina away from me. Bitch.
Mara and I handled her pretty well though, using the subtlest tricks of social interactions to isolate her and keep her away from Mina. We went to watch a movie together. To her credit though, that good-for-nothing Nanaka finally got the message and left us to go home early defeated. I was still doing my victory run in my mind while we were enjoying some nice dessert in a new cafe that opened recently back then.
After that one thing led to another. A lot of things happened, and ironically, my cause was greatly helped by the two stupid fucks I wanted Mina to distance herself from. The boy never showed any interest in her (how dare he?! But it's his loss so I didn't mind), and well, Mina and Nanaka had some fallouts, for which I'd like to proudly claim a certain amount of credit.
Their public fallout set everything up in my favor. Mina always had a tender heart that could get hurt easily (I'm looking at you again, you two cursed childhood friends!), and all it took was for me to patiently wait for my chance and swoop in when Mina was feeling down. The master stroke was convincing her to go to the same cram school during the summer break with me. A lot of things happened, one thing led to another, some negative things (for which I will secretly take credit) and I made sure that I was always there - while keeping everyone else away including that brickhead girl.
So we finally got together. Happy days followed. Nanaka was definitely and obviously hurting inside. I knew she liked Mina in THAT way, which made my victory all the more sweeter. I was also glad that Mina was really bad at reading people's romantic feelings, which only helped her do things that hurt Nanaka even more without realizing what she was doing.
After that, everything was easy and every day was sweet. I got to be close to my Mina and there was no competition anymore. I was so good to her that she forgot about that stupid boy, and that slimey Nanaka had no chance at all to mend things with Mina again. At least until that catastrophic day which I'm not ready to talk about yet. Yes. Time has passed but it still hurts me. That is why, this time, just winning Mina back won't be enough. I will thoroughly destroy that girl Nanaka.
I don't have much time left. Our final year of high school already started and after this, we will be graduating. I gotta make sure that everything works out for me so I can get Mina to apply for the same college as me.
Whatever I have to do, I will get it done.
For I am Tasha, the one that makes the impossible possible.
Hi, Toobo here. I am gradually incorporating the perspectives of other characters from “Aren’t We Lovers?” into this story. The whole story was told from Nana’s perspective back then, but so far for this new series I’ve written some chapters from Mina’s perspective, one from Juno, and now this one is from Tasha, Mina’s ex and the ‘villainess’ of the original story. I intended to keep the update schedule of this story much more relaxed compared to my other stories, but with a change of some circumstances, I think this story will become a lot more frequently updated starting from some point in the near future, so stay tuned! Thank you as always for reading. :D
