Chapter 80: The Bonds We Have

"DETH!!!"

'No, no, no, it can't be! My son... My son!!!'

He ran over to the lifeless body, unable to bring himself to accept the reality at hand.

But the boy was truly dead. His body was charred and bruised, and his arms were disconnected from their joints. His eyes were still open, and his burnt-to-a-crisp face had a content smile drawn on it.

Only then did Mahalalel realize that he had protected them, that teenage boy had saved his life and Shin's.

His own son had protected him.

Mahalalel gathered the limbs and torso of the boy, and with tears falling from his eyes, he hugged the lifeless form of his son close to his heart.

'God, no... he didn't deserve to die... Please, someone, anyone, please bring my boy back... I beg you.'

He sobbed his heart out, weeping and crying with his entire being. His hands shook from grief, agony causing his chest to hurt like he had been stabbed with multiple pins all over.
