The Start of War

(General of Saderan Empire POV)

"Do we know anything about the enemy forces" I questioned my men.

"The recon units report that the enemy has barricaded themself in a small village, they set up wooden fortifications all around the village. We don't have an exact number of their forces but by the size of the fortifications and by the account of what Prince Zorzal said. We are most likely outnumbering them." One of them answered.

"Very well, we will crush those barbarians that dare to try to conquer our empire's territory."

"Sir what about the villagers?"

"What about them? They are helping those barbarians so they shall die as traitors. Besides our men need to blow off some steam."

"Understood sir."

"Now let's begin, move your soldiers toward the village we shall give the emperor a victory."

"To victory soldiers. Hurrah."

"To victory. Hurahh."

(A few hours later)

Right now I'm standing in front of the army.

"Men today we are here to crush those barbarians and their traitorous helpers who dared to plunder our glorious empire!"

"We will show them that we are the strongest and that we do not fear."

(Normal POV)

The army of the Saderan Empire started the attack with archers firing volleys of arrows over the walls of the encampment.

After a few more volleys, they set out the footmen to break through the gate.

Yet before they could even get to the gate they were shot down by archers that suddenly appeared on the walls.

They all were in their normal forms, not one soldier was in their shadow form. But they were protected by enchanted clothes and there were we clay golems between them to make it look like they suffered losses too.

Saderan archers once again retaliated few of the clay golems were hit. When they stopped from inside the encampment smoke bombs were thrown by the Kruzium soldiers and archers fired at the Saderans from the walls. After that, while the smoke was still thick the gate was opened and the cavalry of the Kruzium empire rushed out to slaughter their enemies. Then the footmen rushed out.

They followed behind the cavalry finishing off those who the cavalry missed. Saderan army sent out their cavalry to attack in a pincer movement and order their footmen to attack from the front.

Once again the clay golems were used to make fake casualties. The battle still was far from over but the Saderan commanders were already seeing that this won't be an easy victory.

While the more skilled soldiers managed to keep their calm and stand their ground there were some that tried to run away. Which in turn caused more chaos. After a few more minutes of fighting there came a turning point.

One of the Kruzium's archers with eagle eye skill took the shot and killed the Saderan general.

Once they've lost their main head most of the commanders started to panic while there were a few that tried to keep calm and rein in their comrades but that didn't help, they order the rest of their troops to charge ahead and started getting ready to run away.

As most would assume they send out some of their personal knights(bodyguards).

While normally that wouldn't be a problem it was the fact that the enchanted clothing was only made to last a few barrages of arrows and not full-on swordfights. So the more the fight prolonged the more casualties on the Kruzium side would start gathering.

So a command was given to encircle and destroy the enemy. Those that would survive will be prisoners.

(A day later)

(MC's POV)

"Well, Demiurge how did the first battle end up?" I asked him.

"As expected my lord, well we had fewer casualties than we thought we would have. It seems that the training regime that you had implemented helped." He answered.

'Yes it does help to implement modern military training to help soldiers with their stamina and for them to keep their calm in battle, well at least some will.'

"We will finally see just how good our newspapers are, make someone track how fast the news will spread throughout the territory. We can also use this opportunity to see how good our propaganda is. We should use what we know about what Saderans are doing to their own citizens and about the barbarity of their troops. Try to get some people from that village to testify and maybe someone from the warrior rabbit tribe." I told him.

"It shall be done, my lord."

"Now that I think about it how is the first colony of the rabbit tribe in our territory doing?" I inquired.

"Quite well frankly it seems that they are thriving in their new habitat."

"And how long do you think before the tribe is fully integrated as our empire's citizens."

"Most likely few years minimum would be three or four."

"And integration to the army?"

"I would say that one is easier most likely a year or two."
