Anterograde

Wealthy and beautiful Angela thinks no one will ever know about her dark, terrible past. Being thrown out by her stepdad and having no place to go, she is forced to do things for survival. "After developing an application that made her rich, she becomes a popular figure; of course, everyone wants a piece of the pie, even the person who hates you the most." Angela never for a moment thought someone would threaten to expose her. Now she's being given the alternative. You will do as I say or pay the price. Her past has reared its ugly head. Angela has to find the blackmailer and deal with him by whatever means. Run Angela screamed Jessica as Angela sprinted through the woods with wind bustling through the branches of the trees, making the leaves howl in their symphony. Running along the gravel path in the woods makes her realize how intricate the clash between weather and nature can be. Two natural forces are both in harmony and constantly fighting. The rain would come down any second; its distinct smell filled the air. Plush, intertwining clouds pushed their grey front toward where I stood. The trees continued protesting against the wind as it blew their seeds. Maple seeds twirled down, only to get stuck on my clothes and in the creek. Angela stopped by the edge of the river; she placed a hand on her chest, her heart wouldn't stop raging against her rib cage, and she fought to keep silent a small whimper. Her heart was so loud she feared it would give her away; it was so loud in her ears; she thought the creature that used to be someone she once trusted would hear it and tear it from her. "Who is there? She screamed, looking back and hearing footsteps getting closer. Until she stopped and looked back, there stood a man with a mask, holding a knife; who was this person? Being diagnosed with anterograde amnesia made her unable to create new memories; her past kept haunting her. is it the same person who is always killing her in her dreams?

Arriving at the hospital, Nicole and the others are waiting for the doctor.

"Don't be nervous. You will be fine."

"I dont feel that way. Right now, my heart is beating fast."

She takes Angela's hand, placing it on her chest. "can you feel that?"

Angela nods, "you will be fine try not to overthink it."

Jessica is sitting on the opposite chair, is becoming impatient, then stands up and walks over to the reception. A young lady with red curly hair wearing red lipstick and a formal black skirt looks up.

"Can I help you, mam?"

"I don't know, mam, if you are capable of doing anything else than sit there ignoring instead of lifting your ass off that chair and coming over to us to tell us what the holdup is?"

The receptionist flickers her eyebrows, looking down at her file, then looks ups, "The doctor will let me know when I can let you in."

"Is that not the whole reason we call in for an appointment?"

"Yes, but mam, you must understand you called in on the short notice."

"Yes, we did, and had we known he would let us sit here, keeping us waiting, we would have come back later."

At this point, the security guard wearing a white shirt and navy blue pants stepped over.

"Is everything okay over here?" He asked politely with his hands behind his back.

"No, it's not. We are waiting for how long while princess Fiona sits with a mouth full of teeth."

"Mam, lower your tone, please. The doctor will inform her when he's ready to see you."

Angela overheard the commotion, walked up to the reception, and politely said with her hands behind her back, "excuse me, Mr. Security officer, you need to understand that we have been sitting over there. No one approached us saying that the doctor would take longer, and it's quite frustrating."

The security looked over at the receptionist who was filing her nails. He cleared his throat, stroking his thick mustache with his index finger. He looked slightly obese and middle-aged. The receptionist glanced at him as he pushed his chest forward, "So I am afraid, if you keep this up, I will have to escort you out."

Angela smiled and stepped forward, "throw us out for what reasons?"

"For making so much noise, mam," he said sternly as he raised his thick eyebrows.

Jessica laughed, "I would love to see you try."

She stepped forward with her arms folded, and the security guard laughed, "I see what's happening here. Please get your friend and leave."

"You're bloody security. Your job is to stand quietly over there and not talk."

"Okay, enough, ladies. Time for you to leave," Jessica stood in front of Angela, "I said to make us leave."

"Fine, let's get you out of here then."

He grabbed hold of his baton and attempted to take Jessica by her arm, and before he could touch her, she stepped back. "What, are you too slow?" Jessica teased.

The security felt humiliated in front of the receptionist, who now stood up and walked around her desk, "And she moves," Angela said.

The phone rang, and the receptionist hurried back behind the desk to answer the phone.

"Hello, you have reached Dr. Gustava's reception. How can I help you?"

"This ain't worth it. Let's see a qualified doctor who does his job."

"The receptionist rolled her eyes. The security had gone back to the door. Jessica and Angela went to get Nicole when two suspicious-looking men entered. Angela and Jessica never took note of the two men entering. The one guy medium built walked over to the security and pushed an object through his Jacket towards the security, who looked nervous as he turned and locked the door.

The other guy, slightly shorter than the security leaned over the receptionist counter. "Something is wrong, guys," said Nicole.

"What do you mean, are you feeling pain in your stomach?"

"No, I mean over there." She pointed in the direction of the men.

That's when the two men noticed that the girls had seen the one guy walk towards them with his hands behind his back.

"So ladies, I think you can see what is happening. How about you, little princesses, empty your pockets and give us your belongings."

"Oh boy, you guys are barking up the wrong tree."

"And why would that be?" The man grinned, exposing his chipped yellow teeth.

Jessica made it seem like she was trying to remove things from her handbag. Even though she would love nothing more than to see this Fake Dr. Gustava get mugged, she was now responsible for Nicole. Within a split second, she pulled out a semi-automatic 9mm, shiny silver piece and pointed it at the guy's head. The other guy pulled out his gun, pointing it at them. "You going to drop your weapon?"

Angela slowly reached into the back of her pants and pulled a 9mm, firing a shot at the gunman's hand, shooting him in the palm of his hand, making him drop his gun to the ground.

He screamed as he applied pressure on the hand with the gunshot wound, "you bloody bitch."

He went down on his knees as the blood dripped onto the ground. The other man was in shock; he had pissed himself. The security stood there doing nothing. Angela walked up to the gunman and kicked the gun aside.

The doctor ran out, "what the hell is happening here?"

The security stood there speechless. "I dont know what you are going to do with him, but he's harmless." Said Jessica to security.

"Wait, where are you guys going? You have an appointment to see the doctor."

Jessica shakes her head, we had one but with you as a receptionist and him as a security guard, this place is not safe. We will go elsewhere to a legit doctor."

Upon hearing this remark, the Doctor quickly asked the receptionist, "do you know who that is?"

The receptionist shook her head. "You're a bloody idiot, leave my practice at once, and you, Mr." the Doctor pointed at the security guard, "I have been watching you for a while. All you do is stand there. I've watched this whole incident unfold in my practice because you were too occupied with these ladies, I will have a word with your boss, and you can be assured that every security in your company guarding practices will be removed." The doctor stormed off angrily.

"Where will we go now on such short notice?" Said Nicole,

"Money buys you open doors, honey," Jessica remarked.

Angela smiled. They drove down to a well-known doctor, who saw them immediately because they were willing to pay double the price. "See, I told you money speaks. These doctors are all only after money. It's sad but true."

Dr. Will was good at what he did. He had years of experience and being old, not this new generation of doctors who prescribed painkillers and antibiotics for everything, Dr. Will would examine you thoroughly. He came at a steep price but also donated quite a bit to charity and saw a few patients for free. After doing a thorough examination, he concluded she had been pregnant for four weeks, the news was devastating to Nicole, but he assured her it would be okay. He was nurturing and outstanding, profoundly sympathizing with what had happened to her. He had advised that she remove the baby; mentally and emotionally, she was not ready to have a kid. He had a daughter her age and knew what it would be like for a parent to know their daughter had fallen pregnant because a bunch of men had raped her. She was severely bruised between her thighs. "Whatever they had done to this poor girl will stay with her forever."

After speaking to the doctor, Angela and Jessica advised that she had the abortion, and the doctor agreed and gave her pills. He had also referred her to a psychologist and put her on antidepressants, it's going to be a long journey, but they will get through it. Angela and Jessica had left the hospital, and on their way back, Nicole had asked to stop by a beach to get ice cream and walk along the shore. Angela and Jessica agreed this would be a great idea, "So Jessica, do you like Jack?"

Jessica had not expected this question. It was bold of Nicole to ask it straight out without considering that Jack's sister was in the car. Jessica glanced from the front seat to the driver seat at Angela. Uncertain what to answer, but given that she asks the question straight forward, she will give her a straightforward answer. "I do like Jack, yes, Nicole."

Angela awkwardly sunk deeper, "do we have to have this conversation while I am here? I thought we were going to the beach to relax."
