The Twenty One Questions Part 3

The instructors were in an uproar.

Everyone was vividly shocked at the events of the first test.

Most were discussing and revising their lectures after seeing two prodigies sweep through the first test.

All of them wanted to attract the two students to their classes no matter what.

Selene's and Theo's performance threw all of their plans coming forward.

This is especially worrisome for those Elective instructors as they are optional subjects that are not part of the general programme.

But the general instructors were also agitated and made them think deeply of how their going to make a good impression of the two prodigies.

Any connection to two who would potentially turn the world upside down were something many instructors.

They also knew that they were the symbol of Union between the two empires, making them prime targets for those that feel unsatisfied with the ongoing peace.

So they were bound to get mixed up in trouble and before that happened being the reason for their growth and success would definitely put any instructor's name on the list of greatest.

But many realised that only the best of the best would have a chance to even take in the two prodigies.

They weren't dumb enough to pursue an unbelievable goal. They were instructors of Union Academy, they knew their limits and strengths.

In the end only handful of instructors resolved themselves to try and attract the two aspiring students when they got the chance.

As the instructors diverted their attention away from the two prodogies to observe other aspiring students that had potential.

The instructors were impressed with the new set of aspiring students, understanding now why the Headmaster of the Union Academy called the current generation the greatest golden generation.

The new students were almost at the same level as an average second year and the top could even potentially contend against a third year with great ease though overshadowed by the display of the two prodigies the batch of new students were immensely talented.

And Matthew end of the test a whopping 700 aspiring students survived, which was astonishing in the history of The Union Academy.

There were usually 400 aspiring students left after the first test or 500 when the talent was higher than normal, but a whopping 200 number increase was unprecedented.

The instructors were even more motivated that ever to instruct a generation filled with boundless potential.

Sadly for most the aspiring students many would be weeded out of the 2nd test.

Many students won because of working well together or getting carried by an astounding student.

But the 2nd test was an individual test. A test that would place a boundary between those truly deserving of a title of Union freshman

As soon as the second test started, the projection room were struck with silence as they saw two familiar students taking the second test with absurd tactics

"Did someone leak the questions????"

"Their already halfway to the end"

"They haven't even heard the questions."

"If they are cheating then twenty of the instructors in the room that proposed the questions are guilty... unless"

Twenty different instructors picked at random were chosen to give knew question for the second test, so the likeliness of a leak happening was unlikely.

So all of them unconsciously nervously glanced at the only person that knew all twenty questions.

It was the vice headmistress. She was the one that personally made the second test, so the only possible culprit was her, but none dared to accuse her, afraid that their jobs would be at risk.

The headmistress with a small unreadable smile spoke softly that was also easily heard by every single person in the room.

"Don't worry their not cheating. So continue observing and treat their actions as fair"

The room shuddered, thinking what was their vice headmistress was planning.

None questioned her actions and just continued their observations, knowing it was futile to complain to the vice headmistress.

The two prodogies simply finished the second with ease with one standing on top.

"Hello, Second place"

Theo grinned as he waved at Selene who just teleported into the finishing area.

Selene face darkened and an unspeakable anger rose from her heart.

<.... I'm winning the next one> Selene

<You know I that's impossible> Theo

Selene herself knew that the chance of her getting first place in the next test was basically zero, so she really hoped that Theo would not have the same strategy as she did, where she would instantly answer before the monsters could finish talking.

Theo only won ahead by ten seconds from herself and the reason is because he beat the Kobold chief faster and he could run faster to the next question making it obvious that Theo would undoubtedly win if be knew of the loophole within the test.

She also couldn't guarantee a win when there was an expected attack on the third test.

Selene grumbled inside and tried her best to compose her emotions.

All she wanted to do was beat the little shit in front of her but with all the eyes observing them, it made it impossible for Selene to do any rash and unbecoming actions.

She wanted to prevent her image from tarnishing as much as possible to get interest and favours from the people around her, so she'll save all of this pent up emotion when their alone.

So Selene swore in her heart that she'll get back at Theo no matter the cost.

Selene sighed outwardly and sent a telepathic message to Theo.

<Let's put the competition aside for now, are you ready to kick some demon butt?> Selene

Theo smiled and replied

<Of course, no one's going to die> Theo

Though Stoma, the guy that was supposed to invade into the third test is dead. Theo and Selene knew that it was impossible for a demon way stronger to show up in the test.

The stronger the demon the easier it was to detect their oozing miasma as it increases as a demon gets stronger and the Academy was the prime example of having one of the best detection magic against such miasma.

Selene and Theo knew that creating items that prevent the leakage of demonic miasma was and incredibly hard task.

And it was impossible to hide at a certain level as well.

At most a Count demon would appear, but that in turn would also be troublesome, because they won't be able to guarantee everyone's lives.

The good thing was that they knew where the demon would appear, so stopping it before it could cause casualties was definitely in the realm of possibility.

"Now we just have to wait for the others to finish"

Selene nodded to Theo's words as she clnched her fists with tension and resolve.

"Tch, How am I supposed to know the complete recipe of the fire scale potion???? These questions aren't fair"

Liana grumbled as she came face to face against the last monster.

A Kobold Chief.

"A weak one at that. Should I just fight this thing? I've already fought more than half of the monsters anyways"

Getting holed up in books isn't Liana's strong suit.

The only reason why she got some of the questions right was because her Foster mother drilled knowledge into her head so she could at the very least have the minimum requirements to hopefully pass future written tests.

Liana for the last that she'll just fight the Kobold.

She was still full of energy because the monsters didn't really pose a threat to her.

Compared to the training that her Foster mother, this was a walk in the park.

And sure enough all she had to do was shoot a spirit imbued arrow at the Kobold Chief to kill it in one blow.

"Hmm I won't be surprised if those two finish first."

Liana was still hung up by the fact that she was outclassed by someone else in their own tier.

Not only in tier, she was also beaten by a person a sub level below her, which made her question if all the training she did was for nothing.

And as soon as she teleported into the waiting area, she was surprised.

There were three people instead of the two she was expecting.

Theo and Selene the two people that surpassed her and another human that finished after her in the last test.

"Liam Grace..."

Liana despite not knowing more than half the questions presented by the kobolds, breeze pass everything with ease by swiftly defeating the monsters in the obstacles.

This means that this human, Liam Grace, was at the very least smarter than her or most likely the same level as her if he got to the end first.

"Your Liam Grace right?"

Liam, who was chatting with the first two who got to the end, pointed at himself and turned to Liana who was calling to him.

"Did you answer all the questions?"

Liam tilted his head by the sudden out of the blue question but shook his head in response.

"No but I answered most of them"

"And the Kobold Chief? Did you beat it?"

"Yeah, Theo told me that it was a trick question and you had to fight the Kobold chief no matter what to uproot all the rest who aren't worthy of becoming a Union student"

So he also beat the Kobold chief....

Liana believed that Liam defeated the Kobold Chief with ease.

Not only did he finish faster and answered more questions, he also dealt with the Kobold Chief swiftly, so he definitely was in the same level as her.

Liana initially thought that he was lucky like the fox kin and the dwarf because Theo cleared every single monster and trap in his way, but he has more brains and brawn than Liana expected

Another rival to beat.... Is this why mom was so pent up on training me, because of these three?

Liana starrd blankly as the Liam conversed casually with the two imperial children.

This guy's also careless. How can you treat two imperial children so casually? I have the status of being a adopted child of the two great heroes, so I can easily be a little bit more casual than most of the aspiring students, but this guy... I've never heard of him before.

As Liana stared at Liam, her interest grew more and more. Many questions piled up in her mind, wanting to tie Liam on a chair and make him spit out everything he had of interest.
