Terra, 3000 years ago
Smoke filled the sky, blending with the thundering clouds. In the absence of stars and moon, roaring flames of a burning kingdom lighted the world. Two winged creatures collide in the sky, soaring above hell on earth. Sparks flared like a shooting star each time their swords clashed.

Long ago, there was a Princess. She had beautiful hair resembling the night. She was bright, curious, and a fast learner. She adores her brother, the crown prince, who is just three years older than her. Everything that her brother learned, she wanted to learn too. They spent a lot of time learning together.
However, the Princess was cursed. The lich king, ruler of the demon who once rampaged throughout the world cast a curse upon the King. He claims that the heir of darkness shall be born within the royal family and his legacy of demons shall rise and prevail forevermore.
Upon the Princess' birth, a black magic circle was tattooed on the back of her hand. Mark of the Lich King's curse. Like a birthmark, it's drawn deep through her skin. The King's chancellors insisted to erase her out of existence to keep the world safe from the curse. But the Queen begged the King not to. Unable to reject the Queen's plea, the King refused the chancellor's request. But at the same time, he cannot love his own daughter.
In the face of his wife and son, the King put up a smile and loved the Princess. But behind them, he grew detestation towards her.
As time passes, the King grows warier of the Princess. The chancellors don't stop pressing the King over the matter of the curse. And he grew concerned about how close the Prince and the Princess have become.
Until one day, a messenger of angels came to the Kingdom. The order of Verchiel, a group of angels have decreed that the Prince shall join the order where he will be trained to be a paladin and blessed.
The Kingdom of Valehaven rejoiced upon the news. The crown prince accepted the decree with pride. The King sent his only son with joy. And so the Prince embarked on a journey with the angels. Leaving the Princess caged in the palace.
Soon after the Prince left, the King abhorred the Princess even more. Without the presence of the Prince, the King no longer needs to put on a mask and smile. Soon, the King's hatred grows evermore beyond the Queen's ability. He would throw the Princess into the deep dungeons and lock her for weeks. The Queen begged him to release her. But her plea falls on deaf ears.
Unable to endure the King's abuse any longer, the Princess escaped the Kingdom. She started on a journey of her own, only to be found by an emissary of the Lich King, the Dark Master.
The dark master took her to the Demon territory where the demons welcomed her as their new Princess. The Dark Master oversees her growth. Taught her everything about the demonic way. Whispering words of hatred through her ears.
The Princess' hatred for the King of Valehaven grew into grudges. She swore to take the King's life and burn everything in his kingdom.
With the Dark Master's guidance, she pillaged many places. From villages to towns and from towns to kingdoms. Her reign of terror grow ever more until she killed the Lich King and claimed the throne of the demon for herself.
News of her ascends reached the Kingdom of Valehaven. The King sent his son on a quest to find the Princess. But while the Prince is on his journey, the Princess grows an army and marches towards Valehaven.
By the time the Prince returned, Valehaven had already burned. He rushed to the palace only to watch his parents die at the hand of his own sister.
Blinded by rage, the Prince drew his sword and fought her. Two heirs of Valehaven fought each other. One with wings as bright as the morning while the other's wings are as dark as the night. They clashed in desperation until they both fell to the earth as rain followed their fall.
Before the Princess found the Prince to send a finishing blow, one of the Prince's faithful knights took him far away from Valehaven. They went back to the order of Verchiel while the Princess was never to be heard from again.
After the fall of Valehaven, the order of Verchiel forged a holy sword with only one purpose. To put an end to the Princess. Without a kingdom to lead, the Prince and his knight rose into the ranks of archangels and received only one duty from heaven. He swore an oath to put an end to his sister with his very own hand.
