34: Destruction

"Ladies and Gentlemen! For the next match, we have our competitor Alan coming from the left side, a prodigy who wom every gym battle without losing one Pokemon! He is known to be undefeated, even when challenged by three trainers at the same time!" The lady that narrated Alan's achievements paused for a second, then she started her presentation saying: "We have, coming from the right side... Azes. There not much information about him, only says he has all the necessary badges and that he was registered today. He is a complete mystery! His Pokemons are also a mystery so no one knows his exact strength level! Ladies and Gentlemen, applause for our two competitors!" The crowd exploded in applauds and shouts as the two competitors walked in the arena. The Indigo Plateau has four arenas, an arena filled with rock, grass, water, and a flat arena.

Azes right now is in the water arena. Walking calmly forward, Azes stopped right where trainers need to be to not get hurt by their own Pokemon. "You can use three Pokemons each, you can switch mid-battle. Understood?" The referee explained the rules for Azes and Alan, Alan said "Understood" while Azes just nodded nonchalantly, looking at his opponent like he was looking at his prey. Azes smiled when the referee started the match and sent his first Pokemon. A big dark-skinned Lapras with a big horn on its forehead! The Lapras had also yellow-green eyes and on its back was a golden shell, this caused the Audience to gasp! Such a beautiful Pokemon! Alan was taken back by the appearance of this Pokemon, but his Pokeball already dropped on the ground realizing his Pokemon: A Victrabell!

This Victrabell was a little bigger than the other Victrabells, the amount of energy on its body was fairly decent, making Azes a little surprised. "Ready? Start!" The referee gave permission to begin the fight while stepping back, Azes' Lapras was swimming on the pool like nothing was happening, showing that this Lapras was very arrogant like its trainer! Alan that was being looked down upon felt a little angrier, he looked at his Pokemon saying: "Victrabell, use [Vine Whip]!" Azes just watched as the Victrabell that was looked down upon together with its owner angrily attacked his beautiful Lapras. "Lapras. [Shield]." Suddenly the water around the Pokemon started to move, faster than the vine whip it warped around the Pokemon's body and formed a sphere. When the whip was almost hitting the water sphere, it became ice, protecting the Lapras against the impact of the [Vine Whip].

The audience was really surprised to see this. It was not a move a Pokemon naturally learns, it was taught. A Pokemon instinctually knows how to use some moves, when the Pokemon gets stronger, it starts to learn more moves. There are also moves that are hierarchy learned, they are called [Egg Moves] by Pokemon Researchers and they are relatively new things for the Pokemons when they are born, so they need assistance to learn how to control it, so normally the parents would teach the baby how to use and control these moves. Now back to the battle... Alan suddenly realized the difficulty of the battle just increased by a large margin, he just now understood why his opponent was acting so arrogantly and he started to feel a little pressured.

"Lapras, [Ice Needle Beam]." Lapras obey her trainer and used her customized moves that her trainer taught her, using [Bubble Beam] and shaping the bubbles to be like needles, she used the move sending several water needles towards her opponent. Suddenly, she opened her mouth again but this time an icy wind blew over towards the water needles, transforming it into ice needles! Azes liked to call it [Ice Needle Beam] because of the combination of moves. All this process was so fast that Alan had no time to react, and much less his Pokemon! The ice needles hit it, and in just one move, it fainted. Azes just continued to casually look at his Pokemon, like he did not destroy his opponent's hope and dreams with only one f*cking move! Alan sighed heavily and called the Pokeball back, this was a magnetic way of calling a Pokeball, just shake the hand that has a ring on it and the Pokeball will return. This was one way to call a Pokeball back, there were a lot of ways such as go yourself towards it!

Azes watched as Alan threw his next Pokeball, he called a Gyarados. Azes calmly said: "Lapras... [Blizzard Beam]." Lapras once again opened her mouth and from it, a concentrated beam of ice energy, causing the water below his Lapras to freeze instantly! The beam quickly flew towards its target, Alan this time shouted: "Gyarados, dodge!" Gyarados that was paralyzed by fear woke up with his trainer's voice calling out for him, with a quick slam of its tail, Gyarados was launched towards a platform in the pool that was floating there. Azes just snapped his fingers, Lapras controlled the energy beam and redirected it towards Gyarados who had just landed. Gyarados had no time to react, ge was hit directly. Alan was shocked to see this, once an attack left the Pokemon, it was known that the Pokemon had no control over it anymore! Unless the Pokemon is way stronger than normal Pokemons are. He now was super scared of his opponent's Pokemon.

With hesitation, Alan sent his last Pokemon. It was a Raichu. Azes sighed when he saw that, it was an obvious choice! Type advantages normally work if your opponent is weaker or equal in strength to you, but if the opponent is leagues above you, it is a dumb choice. "Raichu, use [Thunder]!" Raichu raised his tail to the sky, shooting a huge amount of electricity, creating black clouds in the sky. Suddenly a huge lightning bolt crashed down on Lapras. Azes smiled a little and said: "Lapras, [Reflection]." Lapras was completely hit by the thunder, the audience was really confused why Azes let his Pokemon be hit by his opponent's attack, was he overestimating himself or underestimating his enemy? The answer came quickly when the electric energy gathered on the Lapras's horn and shot back at the Raichu, Alan was surprised to see this but when he noticed that it was electricity he relaxed. His Raichu has the ability to absorb electric attacks and increase its special attack!

But the lightning strike didn't hit his Raichu, it hit the ground next to it, creating a huge dust cloud and temporarily blinding his opponent's Pokemon. "Lapras, use [Ice Beam]." With no further ado, Lapras used its last attack and ended the battle knocking the Raichu out. "T-the winner is Azes!" The narrator shouted while the referee also raised his arm towards where Azes came from, the meaning was obvious. Azes just patted his Pokemon's forehead and called it back to the Pokeball, leaving the stage and not even looking back.
