The next day, Sebastian and Jylan finally decided to confront Lei. But, uhm, there was a slight problem. 

They had no idea how to find her. 

This was because Lei herself had disappeared. 

And this, in turn, was because she already knew who The Jester was, and even better, she had known for about a month now. 

As soon as Lei had heard Sebastian cursing, she had instantly tried to help him by leaping out the carriage, but, within a minute, she had been grabbed by thugs and dragged off. Of course, The Jester had shown up and knocked them all out, but of course, he hadn't been able to stop it from raining. 

"Oh, it's raining," Lei said, stating the obvious as a raindrop fell on her nose. The Jester instantly froze, and, within a few minutes, Lei saw why. 

His face paint was wearing off, drop by drop. 

"I- I need to hide." The Jester said hurriedly, turning away, but the rain was as persistent as the author, because it only rained harder, soaking both Lei and The Jester. Finally, Lei decided it wasn't worth it and said, "I'll turn around if you want. I won't have to see your face that way." 

The Jester sighed. "No, there's no face paint for miles around here, so I guess my jigs up. You can turn around." 

When Lei turned around, she saw Chris, smiling awkwardly and looking at his feet. 

"Nice to see you again, Lei."

Now she felt a bit stupid she hadn't seen it before - even with the face paint, the Jester had looked strikingly like Chris, which also meant that there were a lot of questions to be answered, but once he had explained everything, Lei had started sighing into her hands. 

"Chris, you should have just told me from the start…"

Chris blinked. "Oh, yeah, I guess I could have done that. Sorry, Lei." 

Lei sighed again.
