When Sebastian wrote everything that had happened in a letter to Lei, he didn't bother to open the reply, because he knew what it was going to contain. Lots and lots of curses, and, of course, a few sentences here and there like 'I always doubted them!'. That was, in a nutshell, Lei, so when the familiar pink envelope arrived, Sebastian instantly moved up from his desk to throw it in the trash.
"What is that, Butler?" Jylan asked, and Sebastian internally screamed. Yes, the duke had now started calling him 'butler'.
Sebastian paused, one hand still resting on the desk, and the other outstretched to throw away the envelope. "Ah, it's Lei's reply letter, My Lord," Sebastian said, gritting his teeth through the last two words. Jylan grinned and held out a hand. "I would like to read it, butler." Sebastian sighed and respectfully handed the duke his envelope, who took a sip of tea and read the first line.
As soon as Jylan read the first sentence, he spat out his tea all over Sebastian, who, as a royal, was not used to tea explosions, and he ended up sodden and dabbing at his head with an equally sodden handkerchief, while Jylan laughed like a hyena.
"You are a menace to society, My Lord, or at least, your laugh is. Please do not ever display such atrocious actions in front of me again." Now Jylan was laughing even harder, because, towards the bottom of the paper, Lei had given up on complex structures such as sentences and simply listed out curses in scraggly writing.
"This is why I was going to throw it away." Sebastian sighed, folding the handkerchief back and putting it in a small basket to be washed.
"How sad this is. I can't even order you to stop." Sebastian added, and Jylan laughed harder.
"Does Lei even know how to spell everything?" Sebastian continued, and Jylan was now howling, but as Sebastian didn't say anything for a few minutes, his laughs faded to chuckles and finally silence.
"Finished, are we, My Lord?" Sebastian asked icily, and Jylan smiled, ignoring the glare. "Yes, I am Butler, it was a good laugh." Jylan now folded the letter respectfully back into the envelope, handing it to Sebastian, who instantly threw it away.
"I have a feeling this isn't the last we'll see of Lei…"
