Chapter 48 : Shock
Nexus let out a sigh of relief. That creature was truly terrifying. Its aura had pulverized an entire mountain thousands of meters high into rubble, affecting thousands of kilometers. What terrifying strength!
"Jade, what was that thing?" he transmitted his voice to Jade.
"Well, I don't know what kind of creature it is, but judging from its aura, it should be a 5 Star Demonic Beast," Jade responded in a grave voice.
"What?!" Nexus gasped in astonishment. He was dumbfounded. A 5 Star Demonic Beast is equivalent to a True Void Realm Cultivator, which means this creature is two realms higher than him. Not to mention, in his current state, this 5 Star Demonic Beast could kill him without him having a chance to react.
"You are truly lucky to be able to survive," Jade chuckled softly.
"Yeah, we are truly lucky," Nexus wiped the cold sweat from his forehead and smiled bitterly, realizing that his back was soaked with cold sweat.
"Your Majesty, what was that?" Lexx's trembling voice floated from the side.
Nexus woke up from his thoughts and looked at Lexx beside him, smiling bitterly. "That was a 5 Star Demonic Beast."
"What?!" Lexx, Tyler, and the rest of the Black Armored Guards gasped in astonishment, their eyes widening in disbelief. Suddenly, they were all sweating bullets, their already pale faces turning even paler.
"You..r Ma..jesty, was that really a 5 Star Demonic Beast?" Tyler stuttered.
Nexus nodded, his expression grave. Seeing Nexus nod in confirmation again, they were truly dumbfounded. They couldn't believe they had survived such a disaster.
"Luckily, we managed to escape," Lexx said with a sigh of relief. The rest of them nodded, their expressions showing relief.
Nexus had a serious expression on his face, his eyes filled with worry. Why was that 5 Star Demonic Beast out in the outer area anyway?
"Jade, what do you think that 5 Star Demonic Beast was doing out there?" Nexus asked Jade.
Jade, in the Origin Tower, rubbed her chin and pondered for a moment. Eventually, she sighed and shrugged her shoulders. "I don't know, Nexus, but I have to warn you. You need to increase your strength as quickly as possible, or everything you've done so far will be for nothing," Jade said with a serious expression.
Nexus smiled bitterly at Jade's warning. He knew he was currently weak, but he didn't have the time to focus on Cultivation. ' Looks like I'll have to make time to increase my strength quickly, ' he thought.
Looking back at the fading Emerald Mountain Range in the distance, Nexus narrowed his eyes. "Just wait until I become stronger, I will take you down completely."
"Alright, let's hurry back. There's no time to waste," Nexus said, glancing at everyone and giving the order.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" With a kick of their horses, the Gray Wind Horse shot forward at incredible speed as they rushed into the distance, leaving only dust in their wake.
A day later, Nexus, Lexx, Tyler, and the Black Armored Guards rushed to the road leading to the Western Gate of the Mysthaven Capital City. Currently, the Western Gate is reserved for military use, so no civilians are allowed.
As they approached the huge city wall, hundreds of meters high and circling the city like a behemoth, Nexus felt a surge of pride. The ground rumbled as the Gray Wind Horses galloped towards the Huge Bronze Gate of the Western District. Moments later, they reached the gate and it slowly opened, allowing Nexus and his men to enter before closing behind them.
Inside the gate, Kassius and Brutus were already waiting for them. They looked astonished as they gazed upon Nexus and the Black Armored Guards, who appeared battered and bloody. Their armor and weapons were cracked, and wounds of various sizes covered their bodies. They looked like they had just emerged from a battlefield, with intense killing intent emanating from them.
Kassius rushed forward to take the reins of Nexus' horse, while Brutus signaled for a team of soldiers to take care of the other horses. As they all dismounted and stood behind Nexus, the air around them filled with a dense and wild killing intent.
" Your Majesty, what happened to you? Are you alright? How did you get injured? Is everyone alright? Did you guys encounter an ambush?" Kassius asked five questions in a row, looking at Nexus and the Black Armored Guards behind him with worry. It wasn't his fault to be worried, Nexus and the Black Armored Guards were currently the only strong people in the kingdom. If anything happened to them, they didn't know what they would do. Especially Nexus, who was the King. If anything happened to Nexus, their situation would become even more critical.
"Don't worry, Grandpa Kassius, I'm good. This is just scratch from those demonic beasts we killed," Nexus chuckled and looked at Kassius, his heart feeling warm when he saw Kassius' worried face.
"That's good, I'm relieved that nothing happened to you," Kassius patted his chest and heaved a sigh of relief.
Nexus smiled and nodded, then turned his gaze to Brutus, who was standing a short distance away with a respectful face.
"Brutus," Nexus called out.
"Yes, Your Majesty," Brutus quickly responded, giving a military salute and bowing to Nexus.
Nexus nodded and with a wave of his hand, huge barrels as tall as a fully grown man appeared in the open space, numbering up to three hundred. These wooden barrels were filled with the essence of demonic beasts.
"These wooden barrels contain the essence of the demonic beasts we killed during this time in the Emerald Mountain Range. Store them properly. Understood?" Nexus ordered.
"Understood, Your Majesty," Brutus answered in a loud tone.
With another wave of his hand, various body parts of demonic beasts appeared beside the wooden barrels, piling into a small mountain. Kassius, Brutus, and the small team of soldiers gasped with shock and surprise at seeing all these parts of demonic beasts.
Nexus chuckled when he saw their shocked faces.
"Did you guys kill all of these demonic beasts, Your Majesty?" Brutus asked, his voice trembling. Despite not having a cultivation base, he could sense the powerful aura emanating from the body parts and could tell that these beasts were formidable in life.
Nexus casually nodded in confirmation.
Brutus took a deep breath and turned to the soldiers standing at the side. He roared, "Why are you all standing around like idiots? Come and help me move these to the storage room!"
The soldiers quickly snapped out of their stupor and rushed to carry the wooden barrels and body parts of the demonic beasts.
" Wait! I'm not done yet " Nexus stopped them with a wave of his hand.
Brutus looked at Nexus and asked" Your Majesty there are still more? ".
Nexus nodded and gestured with his hand.
Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom Boom
Suddenly, massive corpses that looked like small hills landed heavily on the ground, kicking up a cloud of dust into the air. After a few moments, the dust settled, revealing to Kassius, Brutus, and the other soldiers what had suddenly appeared on the ground.
When they saw what was on the ground, they gasped in disbelief, their mouths hanging open in astonishment. Their faces were filled with shock and incredulity as they stood rooted to the spot, completely dumbfounded.
What did they see ; seven huge corpses of demonic beasts of various species the size of a hill lying lifelessly on the ground; a giant gorilla with a blade wound on it chest, a fiery red lion with it throat ripped opened, a spider which have been split into two, a saber tooth tiger with it throat slit opened, a headless wild boar and finally a long snake with mangled body on the ground.
Brutus and the few soldiers in the area took a few steps back with pale faces only Kassius was still standing but his face was filled shock.
Turning his head, he looked at Nexus and asked, " Your Majesty are those 3 Star demonic beasts?".
" Yes " Nexus smiled and nodded.
Brutus and the few soldiers took in deep breaths, their already shocked faces was filled with shock and astonishment.
Kassius was slightly shocked. He didn't expect Nexus and the Black Armored Guards to be able to kill three Star demonic beasts, let alone seven of them.
" Alright take care of bodies were of these demonic beasts, send the bones, skin, hide android thet parts to Thorgrim, he will know what to do " Nexus faces Brutus and ordered.
" Understood Your Majesty " Brutus responded numbly and ordered the soldiers to start working.
Nexus turned and faced the Black Armored Guards, " You can all go and rest and recuperate ".
" Understood Your Majesty" All the Black Armored Guards responded in unison.
" Grandpa Kassius, please give them the remaining healing pills so that they can recover much faster " Nexus glaned at Kassius and said.
" Yes Your Majesty " Kassius bowed to acknowledge the command.
