Raine's POV.

My eyes fluttered open, the dim morning light filtering through the small window of the room I slept in.

I winced in pain, still bruised and sore from the events of the previous night.

Before I could even process what was happening and defrost for the new day and what it had in store for me.

Oren burst into the room, a cruel smile playing across his lips.

"Wake up you cursed omega," Oren growled, his voice dripping with venom. "Today is the day you get sold off like the worthless thing that you are."

"Today? I'm getting sold today?" I blurred out in surprise.

Oren laughed, a cold mirthless sound that made my skin crawl and my blood boil.

"Oh, do not look so surprised," he taunted, grabbing me by the arm and yanking me roughly to my feet.

"Do you think I would let you stay here for one more night? After all the trouble that you have caused me? You even had the guts to reject my father?

Imagine the audacity of this cursed omega. I will make sure Lucius teaches you such a lesson that you will never forget."

I whimpered as he shoved me towards the door,my legs still unsteady from the pain.

"Please," I begged, my voice hoarse and cracked. "Please do not do this. I do not want to be sold. Please..."

Oren's expression hardened, his grip tightening on my arm until I cried out in pain.

"Be quiet you cursed omega," He snarled, his voice low and menacing. "You are nothing but a curse, a blight on our pack and a stain on our clothes. I am doing you a favor by getting rid of you."

He pushed me out of the door, his cruel laughter echoing in the hallways as we made our way towards the pack center.

"I wonder how much money I will get from you, he murmured, his voice cold and detached.

As we reached the center of the pack, I could see the members gathered, their expressions ranging from curious to contemptuous.

I scanned the area for Freya and my mother but I did not see anyone.

To make matters even worse, no one stepped forward to defend me, no one spoke up on my behalf.

I was alone, isolated a mere pawn in Oren and his father's twisted game.

Oren shoved me forward, the crowd parting like a wave before me.

"Dear wolves of blood moon pack, my father has agreed to sell this omega to the Lycan King Lucius, he announced his voice booming through the crowd.

"She will be delivered to him today."

A murmur of approval ripples through the crowd, their hungry eyes fixed on me like a pack of starving wolves.

I could feel my knees shaking, my heart racing as I tried to process what was happening.

"Please," I begged, my voice small and desperate. "I do not want to go."

But Oren only laughed, a cruel sound that cut through me like a knife.

"Your wishes do not matter, omega," he hissed. "You belong to us and we will do with you as we deem fit. You shut up your filthy mouth and obey every single order given to you."

As the crowd jeered and maybes, Oren dragged me towards the awaiting wagon, his grip like iron around my arm. "You will be lucky if the lycan king does not tear you apart." He growled, shoving me onto the hard wooden bench. "You are a cursed omega and he is a ruthless monster. He will make your wretched and hopeless life a living hell."

I sobbed as Oren climbed onto the driver's seat, the reins in his hands.

"Enjoy the ride, you mutt." He sneered, his voice full of malice.

The wagon lurched forward, the wheels groaning against the dirt road as we started our journey, where the destination was unknown but the pain was known, and the dread consuming me.

I huddled against the back of the wagon, my body shaking from both feet and chill.

I missed Freya so much, I wanted to hug her and tell her that it will all be fine, but no there was no way.

My greedy mother, the cunning alpha of our pack and his cursed son both planned my end.

Seconds turned into minutes, and minutes into hours, the landscape blurring against me in a dizzying haze.

So far, Oren said nothing, his silence more deafening than his roars.

As we approached the lycan King's kingdom, I could feel my heart pounding, my hands trembling.

As the wagon rolled to a stop before the massive gates of the lycan king's palace, I could feel the weight of my impending doom pressing down on my fragile shoulders.

Oren jumped down from the wagon, his gaze fixed on the gates as he motioned for me to follow.

"Stay close to me you wretched thing,"he growled, his fingers digging in my arm. "I do not want you causing any trouble for me or my father, you wild dog."

I nodded, my throat dry and my legs threatening to give out.

The massive gates swung open revealing the imposing figure of the lycan king, Lucius, standing in the center of the courtyard.

He was talk, broad shouldered and his deep blue eyes lacked any emotion but flowed with feral intensity.

"My King," Oren said, bowing low before the Lycan King. "I bring you the Omega, as promised."

The lycan King's gaze fixed on me, his eyes sweeping over my body like a physical touch. "So this is the cursed omega, Raine." He growled, his Luce like thunder.

"Bring her closer,"the lycan king commanded, his gaze still fixed on me.

Oren shoved me forward, his fingers biting into my skin.

I stumbled, my knees shaking as I tried to remain.

"So you are the one with the nerves to question my messenger? So much audacity, you should be taught a lesson." He said.

My heart raced, punishment on my very first day?
