Ch 290: Uncertain Death

"Ma'am I found the hunters they are currently repairing a damaged ship." Jarvis says over some speakers.

"Well, let's stop by and say hi." Kyra says since she knows that the hunter needs to be dropped off.

"Who was that?" Dash asks

"That would be Jarvis an AI," Kyra says

"Hello," Jarvis replies through the speakers

Meanwhile, Willa who is falling asleep in Kyra's lap is picked up by Weiss.

"Im gonna take her to bed dear, then do a few rounds of the ship before tucking in myself." Weiss says giving a Kiss on the cheek to Kyra.

"So, never mind I'm not gonna ask."

"In my defense I didn't want a harem." Kyra says

"You have a harem?"

"Soooo, Jarvis any news on the homefront?" Kyra asks

"No sign of invasion and Vale has the forces of the atlas at a stand still with the battle ships. Though mistral could be preparing or they may have just decided to let atlas do what they want as an ally." Jarvis says

"So we may not need to invade mystral, good," Kyra says

"Unfortunately not ma'am Mistral's manufacturing base is to big to ignore." Jarvis says

"Is he talking about a war?" Natalie asks

"Unfortunately yes, a country with camps for its less than "Human" Citizens declared war on the Island of Menagerie which is where my academy is." Kyra says motioning towards her tail when she said less than human.

"Camps? Like concentration camps?" Lincon asks

Kyra nods,

"Your world seems like a mess," Marshall is

"It is, it truly is, to be honest, I knew what I was doing would lead to a global arms race then all it would take was one bad political move and we would be in war," Kyra says

"So, the people manning this ship?" Natalie asks

"Students from Koa academy, our world may be slightly less deadly than this one but it has its own issues and monsters. Recently I kinda ended the hive-mind controlling the monsters so now they kinda wander around rather than put up coordinated attacks. So our hunters and huntresses on our world have a bit of free time, and they are severely lacking manpower over here." Kyra says

"They have a different system than us so Koa academy which houses the portal to this world... It looks like a stargate (Gets a few nods from the soldiers). Right, so the portal is on my academy land so I made a required class before allowing hunters to seek work over here and they get paid through the usual system while Jarvis interacts with the guild over here to coordinate it all. " Kyra says

"That makes sense, but do they not want tech over here?" Steeler speaks up for once.

"They don't have time to really research technology with the variety and ferocity of the monsters here." Kyra says

Natalie who is looking through the book that was given to you is realizing how screwed they were if they were to stay the night in the desert.

"We all would've died if you had not saved us." Natalie mutters

"Yeah, well some of the creatures on this world are just stupid. I mean you would need an armor penetration anti-tank round to kill a diablo, I can't even guarantee one-shot kill either." Kyra says

"Our guns are useless," Dash says a little scared

"Why do you think most weapons and armor are made from the monsters down there, they are some of the easier ways to kill them," Kyra says

"So, you said you do trade even though you are from a different universe?" Natalie asks

"Does a Captian have the power to discuss stuff like that?" Kyra asks

"No, not really, we can see about it."Kyra says

"Great, I can smell the promotion," Steele says

"It depends if they believe you. With this crackpot story of different universes." Kyra says with a smile.

"I'll drink to that," Lincon says as he downs a glass of butter beer.

"This isn't alcoholic is it?" Lincon asks

"Nope, I have a craft full of students ages 17-21, and you expect me to give them alcohol." Kyra deadpans which gets a laugh out of everyone else, just happy through some miracle they survived.
