Escape

"Where is your sister?" Asher asked as he looked towards Abigail, whose breath hitched upon his gaze.

"S-She went t-to the r-restroom. I-I'll go check" and with that, Abigail rushed towards the restroom.

Asher just shook his head and started to look around where he saw something unusual. It was a woman. She was sneaking around from pillar to pillar while repeatedly glancing at him.

'What is she doing?' Asher thought, completely unaware of the fact the person he was looking at was none other than Aurora Gray, who was hiding way too obviously.

'Is she avoiding... me?' Asher got confused.

And when he saw the woman running out of the restaurant and celebrating her escape, only one thought crossed his mind, 'She is avoiding me... Do I know her? Why would she avoid me though?'

Soon Abigail came running toward them. "She…left," Abigail said.

"She left?!" Hernan stood up.

"Yes, I just received her message that some emergency came which is why she had to go. She asked me to apologize in her stead" Abigail said.

Asher opened his mouth to speak but Hernan didn't let him, "Is everything okay?"

"Yes, it's some work emergency. I'm sorry again on her behalf. I'll also be taking my leave then. Take care, Mr. Howard," and with that, Abigail also dashed off from there.

"Honey! Wait! I'll drop you off!!!" Hernan exclaimed and ran after her, leaving Asher behind alone on the table.

A waiter came to him and asked, "Sir would you like to place your order?". Asher just looked at him and shook his head. The waiter nodded and went back. "Gosh, he is scary," the waiter said.

"What am I supposed to do now?" Asher said to himself, sitting awkwardly.

"..."

The room was filled with silence. I was looking down, feeling guilty whereas Abigail and Hernan stood in front of me, arms crossed, glaring at me.

"Aren't you going too hard on me?" I mumbled.

"Hard? And what would you like to say about what you did to me at the restaurant an hour ago" Abigail looked pissed as I continued to stay silent.

"And why didn't you tell us that the guy you threw coffee on was my Uncle?" Hernan complained. "Like I knew he was your uncle," I said to myself.

"But you could've told us that it was the CEO of your company! We would've guessed" Hernan plopped himself on the couch and I stayed silent, knowing that there was my mistake.

"What you did is unacceptable! What would Uncle Asher will think?" Abigail complained.

"Ah? Don't worry about it. He doesn't give a damn to things other than business" Hernan said as he started to play a game on his phone.

"He doesn't but I do!" Abigail snatched the phone from Hernan making him whine, "Concentrate please!" Hernan sat straight and nodded.

"Okay, Okay. I admit my fault. I will apologize to him when we meet again" I stood up.

"And when will that happen?" Abigail questioned as I awkwardly laughed, "Soon... hehe... soon" and I dashed off towards my room

"I'm not done yet!!" Abigail yelled as a groan left her mouth after earning no response from her older sister. She dropped her body on the couch and heaved out a sigh, "What should I do with her?"

"You know? Sometimes I really wonder... Who is the older one?" Hernan showed amusement and also earned a glare from Abigail, causing him to shut up.

Sigh!

I sighed as I plopped on the bed, recalling all the events that had taken place recently. Soon another sigh escaped from my lips as I closed my eyes, trying to relax, and without myself knowing, I dozed off.

"Papa? Are you home early?

"Papa? Abi?"

"...."

"Abigail? Why are you crying? What ha-"

"Papa!!!"

"Papa!! What happened!! Papa!! Wake up!!!"

*Ambulance siren*

"Papaaa!!!*Cries*"

"Hah!" Abigail opened her eyes with a jolt as she breathed heavily. Tears streamed down her eyes as she held her head, She forwarded her hand to get a glass of water but it slipped from her hand, crashing down on the ground, breaking into pieces.

Upon hearing the loud sound, Aurora barged into the room, running towards Abigail, she engulfed her in a hug, trying to calm her down.

"It's okay. Shh...Calm down. I'm here. Everything's okay" Aurora whispered as Abigail cried in her embrace.

"Is it the nightmare again?" Aurora caressed her hair as she nodded.

Aurora sighed and comforted her little sister. Abigail has been having nightmares ever since their father died. That event left a negative effect on her and it has haunted her ever since.

"Is she okay?" Hernan asked on the call as Aurora hummed in response, "She is better now. Even though the nightmares are not that often, but whenever she has a nightmare, she is down for the next two days. You know it yourself"

Hernan nodded as entered her room. He looked at the sleeping figure of his love as a sad smile formed on his lips.
