Three days later.
The Hammer Industries Expo proceeded as planned.
Justin Hammer had made thorough preparations for this day. He invited influential figures from the military and political circles, as well as major consortiums that had collaborated with Hammer Industries. The media and journalists were also present, and he even planned to broadcast the entire expo live.
This idea came to him on a whim. It had been almost a month, and the online discussions about the mysterious game Iron Man was playing continued to generate buzz. The popularity made him envious. How could that fool gain so much influence just by playing a game and taking a picture lying on a sofa?
Why couldn't he have such influence? But after today... Justin Hammer!... would become famous. He would become the world's number one arms dealer.
With this mindset, he attached great importance to the expo and vowed to shatter the myth of Stark Industries in the arms industry.
Especially when he later learned that Tony Stark had requested additional invitations and seemed to have plans to attend the expo...
"Come on, Tony! Let me crush you in front of the whole world!"
His silent roar echoed through the twisting city. Justin Hammer couldn't wait.
...
Lynn, too, was becoming impatient. The plan to short Hammer Industries' stock had officially begun.
At this moment, all he could do was enter the expo venue with Kitty on his left arm and Jubilee on his right, ready to add fuel to the fire. Jubilee blushed slightly.
"Lynn, why are you in the mood to attend this weapons conference?"
The entire X-Men team followed behind him.
Storm, wearing an ill-fitting dress, felt uncomfortable all over. "Hammer Industries is a significant supplier of weapons to the military. If they truly develop Tony Stark's Iron Armor, the military's power will be greatly enhanced."
The latter didn't need much explanation. The stronger the military, the greater the threat to mutants.
Not everyone possessed the ability to manipulate metal like Magneto, disregarding an iron suit.
"I wonder what will happen tonight," Jean remarked, dressed in red, her figure elegant and refined, exuding an intellectual and graceful aura. In this setting, she felt no pressure at all.
Cyclops, wearing sunglasses, vigilantly observed the venue. "So, Lynn invited us here to spectate? Damn it! I would never have come if the professor hadn't agreed!"
Storm nearly tripped on her skirt, exhaling in frustration.
Logan looked at them speechlessly. "Alright, now that we're all here, can't we relax a bit? If you're so tense, you'll attract suspicion."
"Logan, are you one to talk about being discreet?"
Storm couldn't help but complain.
Perhaps due to their detachment from normal society all these years, both Storm and Cyclops felt somewhat uncomfortable, and their performance was not as polished as Jean, who was accustomed to such occasions.
But at least they were prepared.
But what about Logan... This guy seemed utterly unfazed, exuding a calm and self-assured demeanor.
Clad in a gray jacket with an unlit cigar dangling from his mouth, his rough face, wolf-like beard, and disheveled hair turned heads wherever he went!
If anyone were to arouse suspicion in this setting, it would undoubtedly be him!
"Relax, my dear teachers, don't be so tense..."
Lynn didn't turn around or even move his mouth.
Yet his voice resonated clearly with everyone. "Tonight, all the attention will be on the Iron Soldiers. No one will pay attention to you. And even if they do... you should get used to being in the spotlight."
Everyone was taken aback.
"The esteemed X-Men have saved the world on more than one occasion. Why should you hide in the shadows for the rest of your lives?"
Lynn continued, his tone light. "The X-Men are leaders among mutants. It is our mission to lead the mutant community in seeking survival and growth. If even you are accustomed to hiding and being invisible, if people don't know about the superheroes who save the world... then why should other mutants rely on you?"
With that, Lynn couldn't help but let out a soft sigh.
"Teachers, times have changed. Saving the world alone doesn't guarantee favorable treatment from the world. Look at Batman in Gotham City, fighting crime relentlessly but becoming a wanted criminal. Look at Superman in Metropolis, saving countless lives over the years but now being put on trial..."
"On the other hand, Tony Stark, Iron Man, despite revealing his identity, remains popular and revered, becoming a superhero sought after by the world..."
"What does this show?"
The trial of Superman in Metropolis had caused quite a stir.
The X-Men were well aware of it.
Hearing Lynn mention it, Storm couldn't help but ask, "What... does it mean?"
"It means that hiding in the shadows serves no purpose. Superheroes need to be visible. It means that personality matters. It means that, with proper presentation, mutants can transform from feared monsters to admired superheroes!"
Lynn hit the nail on the head, and his words resonated like thunder.
Everyone's scalp tingled. "The era of superheroes has arrived. In such an era, whether you are a hero or a villain threatening the world does not depend on whether you fight crime, but on... whether anyone has witnessed it!"
"Teachers, no matter what the X-Men do, the most important thing is to let the public know. So, shed your disguises. Enjoy tonight!"
For the X-Men, this was a radical statement.
But at this moment, they quietly pondered what Lynn had said, reflecting on their experiences over the years. And they realized...
It seemed to be the truth. Saving the world without being acknowledged was equivalent to not saving it at all.
"What the hell? I've lived for over a hundred years, and now I'm being lectured by a student?"
Logan spat out his cigar.
He hadn't been an X-Men for a long time, but his experiences were the most extensive among them all. Therefore, his feelings at this moment ran the deepest.
He understood what Lynn was asking them to do.
