10: X Fund

Half an hour passed.

Lynn arrived at the entrance of the academy.

He held a box in his hand, much like Newt's in Fantastic Beasts.

The box had been magically enlarged countless times using the Untraceable Stretching Curse. However, it wasn't meant to house magical creatures; instead, it was filled with various experimental equipment from the first-generation "Oasis" machine.

"Come to think of it, the magic for today hasn't arrived yet?"

As Lynn felt a bit bored, his thoughts wandered.

Just as he was contemplating, Kitty and Jubilee appeared, holding hands. The two girls didn't have suitcases; instead, they each had a beautiful beaded bag hanging from their waists. There was no need to ask—they had been transformed by Lynn using the traceless stretching spell.

Soon after, Bobby, Colossus, and Roberto arrived, each with big bags on their backs. The scene became somewhat awkward inexplicably.

"Lynn, you mentioned earlier that if we wanted to return to the academy, we had to ask for leave in advance. I thought we'd be outside for a long time..."

Bobby spoke while exchanging glances with the others, his smile tinged with sarcasm.

"You're right. We won't be returning to the academy anytime soon."

Lynn replied nonchalantly, saying his goodbyes and preparing to leave.

Colossus looked puzzled. "How are we going? There are no cars here? I thought I'd have a chance to ride in the Blackbird."

The Blackbird was the jet used by the X-Men for missions, built by Professor X at considerable expense.

"I'd like to know the answer to that too!"

A pleasant voice suddenly sounded, and everyone subconsciously turned their heads to see Jean Grey, host of the Phoenix Force, clad in black leather and walking gracefully in high heels.

She looked at Lynn and smiled. "The professor asked me to handle the connection with the X Foundation and to protect you as well."

Lynn nodded.

After all, Professor X had invested $100 million. Naturally, he wouldn't be a mere bystander and let Lynn, a few students who hadn't even graduated, handle everything on their own.

So Lynn wasn't surprised to see the school teacher, but he didn't expect it to be Jean Grey.

'Keeping the potentially Dark Phoenix close by... Isn't that risky?'

Shaking his head, Lynn didn't dwell on the question and lifted the box next to his feet with his left hand. "Time waits for no one; let's go."

With a swift motion, ripples appeared in the void in front of him. A mage who couldn't open spatial doors wasn't a good mage, and Lynn certainly didn't belong to that category.

The next moment, to the astonishment of Jean Grey and the three mutants, a radiant space portal slowly opened. Peering through the door, they saw many tall buildings on the other side—it looked like...

"Xavier Enterprise?"

Jean exclaimed, once again feeling Lynn's secrecy.

Long-distance transportation... This was clearly a completely new ability.

Seeing Lynn, Jubilee, and Kitty stepping through the portal, Jean coughed lightly and looked at Colossus and the others. "You should go next."

The three mutants took a deep breath and hurriedly followed. In the blink of an eye, the scenery changed.

One second they could smell the flowers at X Academy, and the next second, they felt the scorching and stifling air of Twisting City.

Now, they were all standing on the rooftop of a building.

Kitty stretched herself toward the sun. "Lynn, you said the professor helped find us a place to stay. Where is it?"

"Right here."

Lynn stomped his foot and replied with a smile, "This Xavier Building belongs to the X Foundation, founded by Professor X. From today onwards, it will be the headquarters of the Second World Technology Company."

Bobby, Colossus, and Roberto were left gaping.

Kitty's stretching movement suddenly halted, and Jubilee's mouth hung open in surprise.

The two girls looked at each other, sounding like ghosts in disbelief. "Didn't you say that Professor Charles is very cautious and only invested $100 million?"

"That's correct, $100 million was the startup capital."

Lynn shrugged. "This building is the office location. What's the problem?"

They were both dumbfounded. With Professor X's grand plans, did he still lack courage?

"Lynn, please don't hold back any information next time you speak, okay?"
