Chapter 3

I opened my eyes, and sat up. My chest and shoulder felt better, almost nothing. I noticed a woman probably in her thirties talking to Aviva, Aviva nodded and walked out of the room. The woman noticed me and sat at the end of the bed I was currently on. The women had long silky looking silver hair, and oval shaped grey eyes. The type of grey that didn't show blindness, the color was almost blue. She had high cheekbones, a thin layer of silver eyeshadow and red lipstick. She wore a beautiful off the shoulder plain grey shirt, and normal black leggings, and black ankle boots with laces.

This woman wore a smile as she talked to me, she introduced herself, and we began small talk and she even handed me my schedule. We had a little chat with me about training, and I told her I'd give it a try. She seemed really happy with that answer. Once she left, Aviva came in and we started chatting up a storm, just getting to know each other.

"Hobbies." She fired

"Sports, Reading, singing, fishing! Oh and I love messing around with a Scythe, throwing knives and a bow and arrow. What about you?" I asked.

"Sketching, Reading, Sports, Swimming, and messing around with double edged swords, daggers, and a Reaper staff blade." She says.

Two things caught my attention, one was the name of that last sword. Secondly, I was told females don't fight…

"Hey Aviva, I thought females don't fight." I asked her.

She froze. Leaning in she whispered,

"Don't tell a soul this. But I usually sneak into the training room when no one is in there, and just mess around with the weapons. No one knows I do except you and the schoolmistress Lisa, she's fine with it though. That's also why I was excited for you to come because Lisa told me alot about you and your style!" She trailed off.

I grinned, we are already so alike it's not funny.

"Sorry to interrupt girls but I'd like to bring Lexia with me for her first day of training. Let's just say if you don't pass our tests you can't join, because some of the guys are already riled up about you even stepping foot in the room." Elias interrupts.

"Go show 'em who's boss!" Aviva gave me a wink.

I felt much better, getting up. I was fine as I followed Elias to the training room.

"Ignore their comments and remarks, but first we need to get you into a suit that fits you perfectly. Thankfully schoolmaster Lisa set up a suit for you already all you gotta do is put the thing on, and also if you do make it. On the way back I will explain everything you'll need to know, good luck!"

He took a deep breath and opened the door. When the door was opened all communication and movement stopped, next thing I realized was that I was being stared down by around three dozen men. Some had welcoming smiles while others wore scowls. As I walked behind Elias, whispers spread across like wildfire, but as Elias said I ignored all of them. Jax came outta the group and gave me a friendly smile. I immediately relaxed thanks to the friendly face.

"This is Lexia Whitetip, and she will be training with us." Elias announced.

A tall warrior made his way over to me. He held his hand out and introduced himself. At least someone knew how to handshake…Elias!

"Hi Lexia, I'm Arin. Welcome to The Catalyst Warriors Of Catalyst Sacred High."He says.

"Hi !" I say.

Elias leads me away to the fitting rooms and tosses me tons of leather suits with designs for the armor, most of them were heavy which would make me slower. Finally he threw over a light suit with light but hard armor. It was nice and black. I came out of the fitting room, and Elias's eyes widened. He looked over my outfit and blinked a few times before shaking his head. He pointed back to the fitting room and says,

"Nope, go back and find another-" I cut him off,

"No can do Elias, I can't move in the others like I can in this one." I stated

"But-"I cut in again.

"At least let me show you." I asked.

He studied me for a few seconds before sighing and shaking his head, I grinned, and Elias pats me on the shoulder before I went over and sat on the stage. Elias followed.

"Can we start with sword work?" he asked and I nodded.

Elias was using a Luciendar sword, the sword hilt was silver with different spikes that made it look almost like a trident. The actual sword's blade was normal and around a meter long. I was using a double-ended sword. This sword had a silver hilt with a black wrapping for grip. The blades on both sides were around a meter long. The only big difference about our swords was mine was double sided, and that my sword had a slight curve on the tip of the blade. I used a 'Plow guard' as my starting position, while Elias used a 'Close stance'. And then we started, Elias never waited to attack he was alway the first to. And I have to keep in mind he may be stronger but I'm faster, first I needed to tire him out. So I began to only block and dodge his attacks. Once I was sure he was tiring himself out, I striked.

Suddenly Elias is on the ground weaponless, and I'm standing over him in a 'Hanging stance'. The look on his and the other warriors' faces are hilarious.

"As of right now you'd be dead." I told him.

"Now can we move onto something harder?"I asked with boredom in my tone.

Elias blinked a couple times before he nodded at me.

"Throwing knives?" He asked.

I nodded, and I noticed one of the other warriors grin and raise a hand.

"Yes Lucien?" Elias says.

"May I go up against her for this test?" He asked.

"But Lucien, you're the best thrower here," Elias says.

"I wouldn't mind some competition Elias!" I chuckled darkly.

Elias sighed and handed me four silver throwing knives, I grinned at Lucien.

"Watch and learn little girl." Lucien says smugly.

" Oh please go first, and show this 'little girl' the ropes- before she cuts them." I muttered the last part.

"Gladly!" He says.

He throws a knife and it hits the white circle just outside the bulls-eye. He looks over smugly, and I give him a knowing grin and wink. Tossing my knife it hits the bulls-eye, Lucien gawks at it in disbelief.

"Beginners luck-" He throws another.

Still in the white only a little closer to the red bulls-eye. I rolled my eyes and gestured for him to continue throwing.

"Awe look guys, she's too scared to continue." Lucien mocked.

I could feel two sets of eyes watching me closely and I looked around to see who, all the men were laughing at Lucien's statement, but two. And those two were glaring daggers into his head. Elias and Jax! They caught my gaze and gave me a thumbs up, so when I gave them a cheshire grin they were confused.

Bulls-eye. Bulls-eye. Bulls-eye.

I turned around to the shocked warriors and gave them a sarcastic bow. Meanwhile Elias and Jax were grinning like children who had just been given their favorite candy.

I walked over to them, and Elias spoke first.

"Seeing your knife throwing skills, I don't think I need to see your bow and arrow skills."

I laughed at that and sat down on the stage to take a small sip of water Elias grabbed for me.

"Wanna try hand to hand combat?" Elias asked.

I shrugged and Elias nodded.

"Jax, you're up. And like she said, don't go easy on her." He recalled.

Jax and I were thrown into a circle of white paint I assumed. Jax began telling the rules,

"Here's the rules: Step out of this circle you're disqualified, To tap out slap the ground three times, No weapons, any fighting style is allowed as long as it's physical and only body parts." He explained.

" Elias, would you do the honor of counting us down?" Jax asked.

"Gladly, ready?" we nodded.

"Three,"

I crouched low and kept my eyes on my opponent. Jax looked relaxed and hadn't moved. I grinned, trying to trick me Jax. Really? I laughed inwardly, Jax was first to charge me. Suddenly we both ended up stuck and neither of us could move without the other claiming victory.

"Tie!" Elias called.

"So boys, what do you say?" Elias asked the others.

" I think we should let her join, she's proven herself." One says.

"Are you crazy, she's female. She shouldn't even be here." One stated.

"We could learn alot from her, and we could teach her our style, as she can in turn." Another says.

"I'm not fighting alongside a female, forget it." Another joins.

Soon enough the room was split in two sides, one wanting me to join, while the other side wanted me to be a 'woman'. Elias silenced everyone, and announced I was joining, not to mention that Lisa stood behind him looking at anyone who'd dare to speak. They all nodded and training was out for the day. And just like Elias said he walked me back to my room, well more like a dorm building because he saw someone he wanted to avoid.

"Hey Lexia, since Lisa put me in charge of watching you. I was uhh wondering if *cough cough* I could uhhh*Cough cough* get your number, and-and it could be good for training purposes." He says.

I nodded and he handed me his phone, I quickly typed up my number and saved it in his phone for him. Then went in and Elias left. I stopped by the mini fridge. It's still gonna take some time to get used to this dorm.

The main part of the Dorm had around eight TV's and had couches, chairs, beanbags and other things to sit on. Each TV had around two types of chairs, a love seat, couch and a coffee table. It was about the size of two master bedrooms. Then you walked a little and there was a smaller room that was very kitchen-like and this room also had stairs going up that led to the bedrooms. But back to the kitchen-like room. It had two Mini fridges and a normal fridge and freezer, an island, countertop, two sinks and lots of cabinets for food, bags, dishes, and cutlery.

I grabbed myself some cold water and made myself a ham & turkey sandwich. Making my way back up the stairs I went into my room. Aviva was reading a book on her bed, but I guess she heard the door and put the book down. Our room was big enough for two, it had two twin beds on one wall with two night stands in between. Our walls were painted black, but Aviva's been practicing some colorful art designs on them. Not to mention her endless number of pictures hung up, probably people important to her: family, friends, etc. Our whole room was carpet. White carpet. We had a couple bookshelves and two closets. We of course shared a bathroom. My side of the room looked quite empty seeing as I haven't done any decorating on my own, I mean it's not like I've had the time.

"How was training?" Is the first thing she said.

"I kicked them all in the ass." I chuckled.

"That's my girl" She gave me a fist bump, I grinned back at her.

"So, seeing as it's almost dinner. Wanna finally meet my friends, and your soon to be friends?" She squealed.

"Sure," I said, finishing my sandwich and I am still hungry, I didn't bother taking the warrior uniform off.

"Oh and we all have to wear uniforms, but seeing as you're a warrior I'd say you don't have to match. Also Lisa made it perfectly clear we can style our uniforms in any way we want as long as we have it on." She said,

I took a look at her. Aviva wore: a white undershirt with a leather jacket , and black leggings. Her boots ran up to her shins, and they were black flats. Aviva's black hair was loose and went down to her back. Her Violet eyes shone brightly with excitement as she gave me a smile. Aviva didn't even wear makeup and yet still looked like she was.

"I'll keep that in mind, maybe I'll let you help me style it." I was sure I'd let her style my uniform.

"Now let's go meet those friends of yours." I said.

And we ran out the door!
