The Savior

(Lucas)

I sat in my room trying to think of what I had been told on the night of the attack.

The council had just shocked me with new information. The council was a set of wolves charged with the protection of the interests of the wolf community. They enforce the rules made by the moon goddess and punish offenders but I don't see their use. To me, they were just a group of snobbish old wolves who waste time feeling important while the Alphas do the real work of protecting their packs.

I tried so hard to understand what they were talking about. Yes, I know I'm ruthless and I have a taste for blood but being destined to kill the son of the Moon Goddess was a different situation.

I could still recall the events of last night.

"We have important matters to discuss with you, Alpha Lucas," said Ralph, the leader of the council.

"You could have picked a better time to discuss whatever it is you want to say instead of disrupting the pack burial," I said while eyeing the group of white-haired fools.

"The council is at will to summon any alpha or visit any pack whenever there's a matter of great importance"

"And the Alpha is at will to rip apart anyone who threatens his peace and enters his pack grounds unannounced" I replied.

Boris smiled at my reply.

"Alpha Lucas, pardon the impromptu visit but we really need to speak with you soon. It also concerns the safety of your pack"

That definitely piqued my interest and I asked them to follow me to the pack house.

"Okay, what do you have to say?"

They all looked at each other, probably searching for the best person to relay the information to me.

"If none of you want to speak up, you can leave," I said to them in anger.

Ralph cleared his throat and began to speak;

"Firstly, I want to extend my sympathy and that of the council over the loss of some of your pack members"

"This is not why you're here, is it? To extend your sympathies?"

"I will go straight to the point then. We know that there was a rogue attack that led to the death of your wolves. We also know that they were poisoned with wolfsbane," he paused to take in my reaction and I gestured for him to continue.

"We also know that you are in possession of wolfsbane which is against the rules but we will let it go because there haven't been reports of you using it on wolves"

Let me go? Who does this man think he is?

"There have been reports of similar cases of poisoning in another pack. A moon ago, a half-shifted wolf was found in the Crescent pack borders with his pack mark removed"

I was certainly surprised by what I heard. Something big seems to be happening in the wolf community.

"This brings us to the main reason why we are here. For years, a prophecy has been foretold about the end of the wolf race. It is said that the descendant of the moon will bring an end to his ancestor's creation and the descendant of the moon will bring about the continuity of the wolf race but only as long as the mating with the black wolf takes place."

"The descendant of the moon goddess will bring about the end of the moon goddess and also the continuity of the wolf race. What sort of haphazard prophecy is this? Mating with the black wolf? Did you just come to waste my time?" I asked in anger bearing my cannines showing that I was on the verge of releasing my wolf.

"Alpha Lucas, please calm down and listen to us"

I closed my eyes and took a deep breath to calm my wolf down.

"Continue," I said.

"In centuries, there have been no sightings of a black wolf so it was believed that the prophecy was a hoax until now. Alpha Lucas, you are the only black wolf in the wolf community. You are destined to slay the descendant of the moon goddess and bring peace to the wolves" Ralph said.

"I am supposed to what? What the fuck are you old fools saying? Someone is out there poisoning wolves and you say it's because of some sort of prophecy?" I said calmly.

They are telling the truth, Lucas. We were supposed to fight him when the time came. We were created for this. The bloodlust we experienced was activated by the presence of the destroyer, said Boris.

He knew about the prophecy all these while and he didn't say anything. When I asked him about the bloodlust, he refused to reveal the reason.

You were not ready then, he replied.

"This is all we know Alpha Lucas. The signs of the past few months show the wolf community is in danger already. Many wolves have been reported missing in several packs. Our numbers are gradually declining," he continued.

Remembering all these events that happened last night was making me restless and so was my wolf Boris. I was ignoring him because he kept such important information from me. He was itching for a release but I refused to shift.

A knock interrupted my thoughts and in walked Amelia.

"Hello Alpha," she purred.

"Come here"

She walked towards me and placed her hands on my chest trying to reach for a kiss.

"Get on your knees," I commanded.

She quickly got on her knees. I unhooked my belt and put my cock in her mouth. As always, I was only interested in my release.

She tried to touch me but I held her hands together.

"Suck my dick" I told her. She moaned at my command.

What a slut.

I moved my hips back and forth as I fucked her mouth as I was deeply engrossed in getting a release.

I couldn't concentrate as thoughts deeply clogged my mind and I was unable to think about anything else other than the council's news.

Let me out. You will feel better if we shift, said Boris.

"Get out" I told Amelia.

"But Alpha,..."

"I said get out" I shouted flashing my canines as Boris was forcefully trying to come out.

She quickly scampered away and left me alone.

I need to shift.

Walking into the forest, I removed my clothes and shifted into my wolf. Boris ran around the forest, happy to be free.

It will all make sense soon. We just need to find mate, said Boris.

Mate?

I definitely didn't need a mate at this time. A mate is nothing but a source of weakness.

In the distance, a howl was heard and Boris quickly ran towards the sound. It wasn't the howl of any pack member. Alphas always recognize the howl of their pack members but this howl was strange and I had never heard it in my pack before and neither had Boris.

Behind an oak tree stood a brown wolf looking at Boris as if sizing him up.

Not today Black wolf but we shall meet again very soon, the wolf said through a mindlink. This was strange, only pack members can use mindlinks and this wolf was no pack member.

I advanced for an attack but the wolf ran away before I could get to him leaving me more surprised. Rogues normally advance for attacks instead of running.

Who was that wolf? How was he able to mindlink me? How was he able to pass through pack borders without the guards knowing?

Looks like I have a guard or two to punish.
