TAKING a deep breath, I took another step down to the basement. I was carrying a basket with food for Diana. Leo was just behind me as he carried the big gallon of water. We were going to bring Diana another set of beddings and food this afternoon. Luke had already come down earlier to visit her but I wanted to see Diana for myself. The guilt was just gnawing on me so heavily.

As we approached her cell, Leo stepped forward and opened the door so we could enter. Diana sitting down on the bed with a comforter over her. It was really chilly in the pack today and it was even colder down here. She turned to look at us when we entered the cell.

Leo placed the water gallon near her bed while I just stood there watching her. She was looking at Leo as he took the basket that was probably her food earlier.

“I brought some food again,” I said and walked closer.

“Thank you,” she answered but didn’t look at me.
