ALPHA Nathaniel stood in front of the wolves he brought in Dark Mountains. The atmosphere was so tense, I could almost see fog swirling around our feet.

I did not know that Connor had contacted Alpha Nathaniel about Alpha Thomas’ arrival in the pack. If he did, Alpha Nathaniel sure did not waste any time to come and go here.

“I apologize for once again entering your territory without your consent. But I believe we are facing unusual circumstances,” Alpha Nathaniel said, directing it to Connor.

I felt Connor’s grip on my hand tighten. “I can’t say I’m pleased with what you did, but since you are already here, I guess I can’t complain.”

Alpha Nathaniel then looked in Alpha Thomas’ direction. His eyes narrowed as he scanned the area and saw Alpha Thoma’s men there.

“You told Alpha Nathaniel about your cousin being there?” I asked Connor, making sure my voice was low enough so that it was only him who could hear it.
