Chapter 8

Adira climbed out of the cab after paying the driver as he pulled up in front of Deluxe Diner.

She shut the door and as the cab drove away, she walked into the restaurant. She looked around and saw Lucian sitting at a table next to the glass walls of the restaurant.

He had already caught her scent as the cab arrived, but he pretended he didn't know she was here yet and kept his gze fixated on his phone.

Adira slowly walked to his table and as she got close enough, Lucian finally looked up amd pretended to just notice her.

Adira stood in front of him, feeling super nervous.

"Sit down," Lucian said and Adira pulled a sit back, sitting on the chair. She avoided eye contact with him and just looked at the table..

"What do you want to eat?" Lucian asked and she slowly looked up. What did she want to eat?!

"I'm sorry?"

"You said you were about to go on lunch break so I'm asking what you want to eat," Lucian repeated.
