LIAM
My heart starts to race, thumping hard on my chest.
Rain is hugging me, touching me and it feels so good I never want to let him go. I feel the weight of today's activities come crashing on me, and the grief I was hiding deep in my heart threatens to spew on the surface.
He is holding me, hugging me and I am about to cry. What's wrong with me? That will scare him away and I don't want that. So I swallow hard, burying my face in his neck, breathing in a sweet calming scent.
"Let me take care of you," rain whispers as we pull back.
My eyes search his face, wondering what has gotten to him. I admit that I was worried when he had to go meet my mother for brunch. I was worried that she wanted to extend the hate she had for me towards my mate, which made me follow rain, to make sure nothing happened.
