RAIN
We spend the whole night in the tree house, talking and whispering. We are once again little kids, sharing secrets and whispering to each other dreams, making wishes on the shooting stars, and laughing at each other's jokes.
We hold hands, making shadow figures which makes us laugh when they turn out to be too funny. We play, laugh, and talk and just be because that's all I want to do with him right now.
Until we fall asleep in each other's arms. He is my home. Home isn't a place but where your heart is. Liam is where my heart is, he is my home.
I wake up to birds chirping. Liam is still sleeping and I allow myself to watch him, letting myself lie next to him and sleep in a little more. We don't have to be anywhere, we can be like this and no one is going to disturb us.
My fingers skim over his nose to his cheeks and his eyes flutter open. I don't pull my hand away, as we look at each other.
"Happy birthday baby."
