chapter 1-Honks

Elena ran down the stairs in a hurry as the car kept honking.She ran over to her mom and kissed her goodbye on the cheek

"bye mom,love you"

"love you too baby,you forgot your assignment"arlene yelled and Elena ran back to grab her assignment on the table and into her backpack,she almost forgot the assignment she worked on all night.

"wait for your brother,you're a package deal remember" Arlene yelled from the kitchen but Elena had already slammed the door and gotten into the black range rover that had been wanting for her for twenty minutes already.

"what took you so long,couldn't you hear the honks and the beeps for the past twenty minutes?" Sarah complained while folding her hands across her chest with her blonde hair styled in a ponytail with a pink hairclip holding the strands together.

"sorry,I slept in,I was busy with my assignment all night" Elena explained while getting into the backseat and seating next to Sarah

"legs go,I don't want my brother to come with us,he's a pain in the neck"Elena said and the driver started the engine and drove off.

"she left without me" justin said while taking a bite out of his toast

"maybe if you were much more nicer to your older sister,she would be nicer to you too" Arlene said as she grabbed her car keys from the kitchen counter

"I'll pass...it's fun teasing her about her mythical creature obsession...and she calls me immature while her mates are going on expensive dates with their boyfriends,She's pretty much the immature one in this whole situation" Justin said as he grabbed his backpack

"get in the car,I'll drop you off"Arlene said as she and Justin walked towards the car.

It's a black Toyota Camry left behind by Arlene 's husband before his disappearance.The police have made thorough investigation and searched everywhere for the missing man but all to no avail and so everyone came to a conclusion that the man had intentionally abandoned his family and it was this reality that Arlene and her children had to live with for seven years but elena thinks his disappearance was not ordinary,she was with her father that day and claimed to have seen something before her father left and never came back,a police man found her at the side of the road crying and brought her to her mother in a traumatized state.

"MOM'" Justin yelled as he noticed his mom was lost in thoughts and he could already tell what she was thinking.

"come on,I'll be late"

"oh,sorry" Arlene apologised as she got into the car and drove off.

Just then,the old lady who had been watching everything from her room's window smiled in a devilish way showing her brown aged dentals and slowly closed the curtains.
