Chapter 40

And then I fell asleep, because damn, the man had worn me out.

* * * *

I was out of bed by five in the morning because a couple would be stopping by in an hour to pick up the horses. Sam was snoring to rival a locomotive, so I left him a note in the kitchen before heading outside to get Summer and Clover ready for their temporary owners.

By the time I took a break and Melvin and crew were working in the paddocks, I saw Sam on the porch, drinking coffee. “Morning,” I said before giving him a quick kiss, which turned into a heavy make-out session that had me straddling his lap and tongue-fucking his throat without a care in the world. I heard some raunchy whistles behind us and waved away the voyeurs so I could focus on the delectable man in my arms.

“Mmm, morning,” he mumbled against my lips before taking them again with a purpose. I could happily stay like this all day, but I had things to do.

I pulled back with a quick peck and stood. “Sleep well?”
