Chapter 9

After eating the left over meal which was warmed already, Alicia went to the maid's quarter to bath and also wear her clothes. She was using her one hand to rub the other in which Asher had twisted effortlessly while cursing him in her mind. she couldn't believe that the man had no heart at all, like how dare he treat a lady like this, if there was anyone who wasn't a gentleman, it was him, her master... wait! she doesn't even know his name.

Whatever not like she cared anyway all she cared about was to escape from the monster and never come to see him again.

As she was walking in the dark without no lantern and making use of her eyes, she could feel her skin rise because she sensed that someone was following her. She halted and then turn to face the darkness, 'Nothing' she whispered to herself before facing her front to continue walking.

Alicia was just putting on a brave act whereas her mind was in turmoil as she looked back and forth every minute, what was following her and what did it want, she had no idea at all.

Getting to the bath, her eyes scanned the window and she released a relived sigh because her cloth was still in that position she had left it, she closed the windows properly and began undressing herself.

She slid into the tub and started washing herself as fast as she could because she wanted to leave the dark right now for the mansion. When she finished bathing, she turned to the window but realized that the cloth was no longer there.

'Eh? what happened now!" she asked puzzled, she just saw the cloth just now by the window how could it have disappeared.

She walked further to the window and her eyebrows furrowed when she saw that her cloth was really gone. She shook her head in disbelief, cloth that her eyes just landed on right now, where could it have gone to?, Without wasting time, she wore the maid cloth given to her by Asher.

She slowly came out of the bath with a rapid breathing ready to dash across the darkness into the mansion when she felt a hand on her mouth which pulled her to the back, Alicia eyes widened as she felt her hands being held to her back and her nose and mouth being covered, she found it hard to breathe.

Struggling to get herself free from whosoever that held her, she kicked the air and fought but all her efforts were futile as she was still dragged to the back.

Alicia racked her brain for what to do, she could not let this person take her away like this and she could not stay in this position, she might die due to shortage of breath.

Her eyebrows creased again when she felt herself being released by the person, she controlled her breath before turning to look at the person who had dared do this to her, for a minute she thought she would die as this person had instilled fear into her and had cut her breath short.

"Who are you?" Alicia asked, she found it hard to believe that it was a woman who had dragged her and covered her mouth and nose like that, she felt so strong. Here, Alicia was thinking it was a huge man or something like that...

The woman with blue eyes and she wore a dark dress and had her hair tied in a messy bun looked at the girl, she knew what she was doing was wrong but she just wanted to get close to her son. To make it up to him for leaving him all these years, she knew what she did was her fault that was why she was here to atone for her sins.

"I am Lisa" The woman spoke, her voice was smooth and sweet to hear just like Alicia's. The woman looked older than Alicia because of the small freckles on her face and dark circle under her eye, she still looked stunning even though she was ragged.

"Why did you bring me here and what were you going to do to me?" Alicia asked with a frowned face as she glared at the woman, usually she respected her elders but this woman deserved no respect for the way she treated her right now, she had wanted to kill her!

"I mean no harm to you child, it's just that I need to be here, I want to be here" Stated the woman while Alicia looked dumbfounded at the woman, if she wanted to be here why the hell did she kidnap her just now, couldn't she just go to the main door and speak with Asher?. Speaking of kidnap, did she really kidnap her because she had free her now, Alicia had to massage her temple because she was feeling hot and dizzy there.

"Okay, so what do you want now?" Alicia asked the woman.

"Will you help me child?" The woman asked instead and Alicia just had to nod her head like a rattle.

"Can I stay in that house, I mean I would sleep there everyday but don't worry I can work very well, just give me work to do there and in return I would live in that house, please" The woman begged Alicia who looked taken aback, why was she begging her when she was just a lowly maid in that house, shouldn't she go speak to her master who was the real owner of the house because what the woman was asking for absolutely made no sense, what if her master catches her, what excuse is she going to give. No she couldn't do this, remembering the way, the monster had twisted her arm brought goosebumps to her, she would never like to experience it again.

"please, I can even sleep in the room with you and only come out when the man isn't at home, please just let me be there" The woman begged after noticing a hint of doubt in the girl's eyes.

"Okay" Alicia finally agreed to the woman, she just had no choice than to agree with her, she always had a weak spot for her elders and never refused in doing what is asked of her.

"But we have to be careful, we cannot let him know"

"Yes, agreed"

"Wait..." As if realizing something, she turned to ask the woman, "Were you the one following me because I sensed someone coming from behind and did you take my clothes?" Alicia asked carefully and when the woman nodded shyly she just had to grit her teeth, she couldn't curse the woman nor shout at her.

"I'm sorry for that, I promise to never do it again" The woman begged and Alicia nodded again in understanding. The two of them snuck into the house that night and made their way towards Alicia's room, As kind as Alicia was, she offered the woman food and told her to lay on the bed while she laid on the ground even though the woman insisted that they could manage the bed together, Alicia refused wanting the woman to be comfortable. Somehow she felt that her master and this woman were related.
