Against the World: The last Monapart

No one with the name Monapart could ever use magic. But no Monapart ever cared about it. They were always the strongest of them all. Each one stronger than the last. The world couldn't accept their existence. When the strongest Monapart died, they swore to never let another one get stronger again. Every human, beast, and demon would be killed at the mere mention of the name... But time passes, and soon, they forgot. "Curses...Curses... The fucking curses! They were the rage, the fear, and the embodiment of someone's will, so why?! Why all of them are made to kill everything?!" Said the first Monapart. But the curse in front of him didn't answer, it just stared at him smiling like always. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- When he was born, he didn't cry, nor made any kind of sound in the process, but no one cared for him enough to notice. After just two days of life, he opened his eyes. An unusual thing as babies usually need at least a month to do so. His green eyes moved wildly looking at every corner of his room with deep curiosity, but not understanding anything in his view. He still couldn't understand the concept of 'thing' yet, but that changed after one month of life. After one month, he understood he was alive and most of the things in the room weren't. He still couldn't put it in words but he clearly knew that he was way different than the chair next to him. The speed of his understanding was outstanding. Sadly, in his sixth month of life, while he was asleep, flames covered his entire room and himself. It didn't take even a second and all the room turned into ashes. The baby didn't die as expected, but he was no longer in the dark room. [ Curse received: Heart offering ] . . [ Heart offering: Once per day the curse bearer will lose one of his five senses until he loses everything or dies ] . . [ Heart offering is taking effect ] . . [ Sense of hearing lost] ----------------------------------------------------------------------- -At least one chapter of 1000 words a day -If you don't like the start, I guess chapter 21 is a good one to jump to but you will still feel a little lost -If you find any error, please comment on it and I will fix it -I hope you like it

Decorated Cave

We fell for a long time as the cheeky fellow had a lot of fun in the air. After some time, the distance between us increased and I couldn't see him anymore.

I looked down and to my relief, I could see water, a lot of it.

My body crashed into the water with too much force, my bones felt the impact and almost broke. I sank to the bottom and waited a few seconds recovering from the shock.

Then, I floated up and left the underground lake.

'Where?' Looking around. It was really dark, and finding a light would be hard. It was what I thought until I accidentally touched a mushroom. Suddenly, blue mushrooms all around started to shine an azure color.

It was a beautiful view until I saw a very large pile of bodies.

'The monsters throw a lot of people here...'

As I was lost in thoughts, the pile of bodies started to move.

'There is something in it?' I was getting anxious, I just survived a very big fall and was worried I had to fight again.

The bodies moved to the side, and a person raised from the pile.

"Hey! Glad you're okay!" he said looking at me.

I wanted to hit him very badly right now but tried my best not to.

"Why did you push me?"

"Well, you looked like you were gonna take a really long time thinking and we would be forced to jump anyway so I just rushed it up a bit. Jumping in an abyss seemed fun enough to do so"

"I could have found a solution or had an idea! We didn't need to jump into the possibility of sure death!"

"I don't think you would find anything up there and it wasn't sure death. If it was, you wouldn't be alive right now, you really are very dumb" He said shaking his head to the sides.

Then, he put his hand on my head and smiled.

"But you can be as dumb as you want, you don't need to worry about anything. I can be the brain of the team"

After listening to him, I gave up. He was just too annoying.

For some reason, I felt glad inside.

"Okay, okay, you were right. Now take your hand off my head!"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

After some time, we explored the place and found a good spot to sleep. We were both exhausted and decided to rest.

We found a lot of things in the bodies thrown here. We were laying on some piled-up clothes, preparing to sleep.

"It's a little awkward to ask now but I still don't know your name, little brother"

"I don't have one"

"What a pity, then I will stick with Little brother for now"

"And you?"

"Hohoho, glad you asked, remember well, my name is Evan, Evan Monapart!"

"Okay then, I will sleep now"

"So cold, not even a comment in such a cool name?"

"I think your definition of cool is wrong. Don't you have any dictionary laying around?" I asked with my eyes slowly closing.

Evan looked at me with a surprised face.

"I forgot you were only two years old... It seems that I have a lot to teach you, little brother"

Then a wave of tiredness hit me and I fell asleep.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up, the little brother still sleeping beside me. I look at his face

and he seemed to be in deep sleep.

'He is a very interesting fellow. He is just two years old and doesn't mind sleeping with a few hundred corpses laying around. What kind of life did you live until now, buddy?'

'Well, maybe my life wasn't the most beautiful too since I am just thirteen' I thought as I remembered some memories.

After contemplating my life story, I got up and started searching for something interesting to do. Since we lost the chessboard, I needed to find something to create another.

'I hope there are some church believers around. I can use some gods' statues to make sets of chess. Like pre-made versions'

---------------------------------------------------------------------------

I woke up and realized Evan was missing so I started looking for him, we needed to find something to eat.

I found him close to the other side of the lake appearing excited about something.

"Hey! Little brother, good morning. Look what I found" Then he showed me a little passage in the wall.

"Shouldn't we find food first?"

"We can deal with it after exploring. I can feel the air passing here. Come, let's see where it brings us" He said as he crawled into the passage.

*sigh* "Okay then" I entered the passage too.

We crawled for some time until we found the exit. Leaving the passage, we entered a long hall, it was dark so Evan ignited a torch.

"Where did you get a torch?"

He pointed to the wall. There were used torches on the walls and a lot of strange symbols on the floor.

"Just fixed one of the old ones. It looks like we are in a very old dungeon"

"What is a dungeon?"

"It's just a cave that someone decorated a little and put some monsters"

"Are you sure? It seems very difficult to build to be 'just a decoration'"

"Have you ever entered one before?"

"No"

"I have. Therefore I am right and you just don't have enough knowledge"

"..."

'I guess he is right?'

We walked for some time and found a big door. The door was so big I couldn't see the end because the light didn't reach it.

"How are we gonna open it?"

Evan went close to the door, raised his leg a little, and kicked the giant door.

*Booom* *Booom* The door made a really loud sound as the force used was too great hitting the wall as well. The door opened completely and a lot of dust raised from the ground.

*cough* *cough* *cough*

"Couldn't you open it a little slower?"

"It was necessary for the experience, most of the doors would break from my kick. I couldn't just waste the chance" He said smiling.

"I don't understand how you can find this funny"

"Hehe, everything can be funny or boring, you just have to know where and when to look"

"That doesn't make sense"

"I used to think like that too, but things happen..." His face changed, becoming a little sad.

"..."

"Look, another door!" He ignored me and went to the door.

"Wait!"

*Booom* *Booom* Another wave of dust raised.

After passing the door, we entered a large room. There were many doors leading to unknown places. In the middle of the room, we could see stairs and a platform, with a big box on top of it.

"It's a coffin. This is the dungeon's treasure room, we are in a temple"
